Finally after many years I was able to start on a new shop behind my house. We have an attached 3 car garage and the last stall was too full of car parts, tools and junk to do anything out there. 22x36 was the largest I could build on my corner lot.

I'm on a corner lot so I'm adding a second driveway to the cul-de-sac behind my house. Never mind the blue playhouse. It's sitting there temporarily until I can finish the workshop and move it back to a better location.

A short run for the electrical and gas lines.

The brow going over the door. I originally wanted a longer one but they said 3' was the farthest they could go without needing an engineer for the stress on that wall. I like the 3' one. It still adds shelter and some character to the front.

I put in storage rafters so now there is a space above accessible with the pull-down ladder to store stuff.

I love how my big oak in the back towers over the backyard. No branches hang over the house or shop though.

Time to sheet-rock.

On the far wall, I added brick masonite to break things up visually.

Furnace going in. I have the AC unit to hook up this summer.

Mostly finished and ready to bring home some of my cars for the winter.

I see them and I like what I see. Very nice place, the overhang adds a lot to your shop. Enjoy your new space. :bounce:

Moved in just in time for the cold and snow. Now I can give the Chevelle some TLC and finish the Mustang.

Great job on the shop. I had to snicker a bit when I saw the drywall dropped with the framing. Thought man that's aggressive but obviously you had it handled without issue. I'm also digging on your rides, very sweet!

I've got a polished out 871 with a big n ugly injector along with all the other goodies. It looks very cool but man oh man do I despise keeping it pretty.

I thought the same thing until I saw the pile a few posts down. Was the drywall in the second picture posted for a fire break in the attic ??

Cars look sweet and the shop looks very nice as well. From the pictures with all your goodies in there I'd never guess it was only 22x36. It looks way larger inside the way you have things laid out !!

Actually that drywall went back when we found out we didn't need it as a fire barrier to my neighbor's property. Going to leave the floor as-is. It's sealed. I like plain concrete myself.

From start to finish, everything looks great.

For sure had my attention with the underhood shot on the Mustang.

Like you, my shop is all full of bad ideas from this site.

Nice Spot you've got there. Love the ability to have a back entrance to the shop/lot.

Nice Sun equipment! I got my SUN units this year but haven't had time to fire them up. I'd like to get them running if they don't.

Sure! I call him Junior. I found it on Craigslist. '58 Viking with a 283. Wanted to make a car hauler out of it.

Cut the frame off behind the cab, added two feet to the wheelbase and mounted a 2008 F350 rear-end.

Love everything about your new build. I was interested from the beginning and then you dropped the 70' Chevelle and have my undivided attention now. The 58' is awesome by the way.

NICE!! What are you using the roaster for that is to the Rt of the Texaco gas pump???????????
Really digging the office set up. Shouldn't your tool boxes be facing the cars?

LOL, I bought the roaster for the stand (another idea I got from this site) but it is in perfect shape - so I think I'll use it to roast stuff!

The tools face the office and on the car side is a countertop sitting on a Coke machine shell with many parts bins on top. I can put parts and tools on it when I'm working on the cars. I suppose if I don't like it I can always rotate them. Everything is on wheels.

I'm a Chevelle guy too. But the Mustang is cool too....well, actually anything with a motor....but a HEMI is over the top.

I had the Hemi for years and always thought I would build a 32 Ford for it. I have a '27 T already.

My wife kind of frowned at another roadster - she said she likes muscle cars better so I pondered what would be my dream car to put the Hemi in = Mustang Fastback!
