I personally don't see the need for 98% of the **** on phones nowadays, ITS A DAMN PHONE. That is all it needs to do, I wouldn't have one at all if it wasn't cheaper than a land line.

I love getting my email on mine, I work for a company that does everything via email and I rarely see a computer so I can keep up much easier. Considering the service area I cover and time spent out its worth it.

No, a phone is not a tool. You can't build or fix anything with it. Teenage girls love them, just to dispel any further doubt. This should really be in Free Parking.

I can do a huge amount with my phone, I can look up whether or not something is hazardous, how to approach something that is unfamiliar, take pictures and keep notes that I don't have to transcribe later. In the field I am in its probably my most useful tool.

I just figured out how to program peoples numbers in my phone, don't think the I phone is happening anytime soon unless they come out with a $30/month plan.

Well just keep dumbing yourselves down with em, When the **** hits the fan, Only us old school guys are gonna be able to make it in the world. If I am not on the property at work I don't do their work. I'm not gonna waste my life being a slave to a damn piece of electronic ****. We just had a ******* broad here in Richmond bounce off a police car and run into a building because she was trying to read the ******** GPS unit in her SUV and missed a malfunctioning stop light that was to be treated as a four way stop..

I disagree, It is the first flashlight that I look for when under a car or armpit deep in something. I've used the video camera numerous times to look behind walls for pluming or electric or tight spaces around cars. It is allot easier to hold you cellphone into a tight area and sweep it with the video camera than it is to dig out the mirrors. One time I was working on a non functioning well pump in my father in laws partially flooded basement and pulled up the repair manual from the company website moments after getting there and reading the model number.

Here is an OBD II Iphone app
<object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/S7V-mOTeiM8&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/S7V-mOTeiM8&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>

Neat video that shows how the rev app can be used with OBDII:
<object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/NG9qCdblAzc&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/NG9qCdblAzc&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>

This is just the beginning, I envision bi directional in the near future.

Chris

Son, what you are describing is not a phone. It is a computer, video system, flashlight, and Swiss Army knife with a monthly fee.
My phone is what the company provided me and it doesn't even have a flashlight. I didn't even know that they put flashlights in phones.
Damn whippersnappers.
