Kirk, it won't be long before you have some tricks to share with me. Necessity is the mother of invention and stubbornness is the father.
Trading secrets  And you are so right on the 2nd sentence.
I went back a few pages trying to find out what happened to your toe!
how did you do that?
Sins of my youth. Bone spurs and arthritis removal from a very old injury. Loading up the leg press machine, I dropped a 45lb plate on my right big toe, about 15-20 years ago.

Well that was interesting. The Grunt (our ’10 Silverado) has had a big fuel leak for the past few months. Since I really can’t drive, thought now would be a good time to fix it. Got the shield off all by my lonesome. Wish I had a video of me getting off the creeper the first time, too funny. Anyway, a friend stopped by tonight to help me pull the gas tank out the rest of the way. The source of the leak was the ******* on the fuel pump literally rusted off. I’ve never heard of that before.GT 1.jpgGT 2.jpgGT 3.jpgGT 4.jpg

I think got our money's worth. 12 Michigan winters and 240,000 miles, so I'm not complaining.

That is pretty good for most vehicles in the salt belt. You won't get much more than that unless you undercoat them every year. Although it looks like yours has had some bodywork done to it? I see what looks like rockerguard along the bottom of the body panels.

Excellent!
I didnt realize you had that many miles on it. Maybe Theres a plastic top and ******* replacement fuel pump option?

Just did one one a 99 gm van, and ironically the fuel pump was the only not corroded to hell component in the entire fuel delivery system. Everything else needed to be replaced up to the engine.

This is my Dad's old truck, and he took really good care of it, even though he used it very hard. The rockergard is factory, and the truck hasn't ever had any body work, to my knowledge.

For the $250 it costs, I'll just replace the fuel pump. The fuel lines look pretty good on the frame rails.

Kirk, happy to see you are getting help.

We didn't take many pictures back in the '60s but there could have been one of me the day after they released me from the hospital. I was depressed and mad, thinking I would never drive stick again. My neighbor gifted me a 283 SBC and a GMC hydramatic with the right bellhousing. I was going to install them in my '55 Chevy Bel Air hardtop. First order of business was to remove the battery from our '56 210 Chevy sedan so I pulled a plastic bread loaf bag out of the trash and taped it on over the bandage on my stump. I then crawled under the car to disconnect the radiator when my father showed up and put an end to my party. He had just purchased a '65 Buick LeSabre in Wisconsin and driven it home to New York and hadn't gotten around to selling the '62 Rambler station wagon. He said he'd give us the Rambler if I give up the two Chevies and '56 Ford Victoria (with blown engine). SWMBO said yes before I could open my mouth.

If someone had been there to help, I bet I'd still have that '55 Chevy with the 4-speed, dual range hydramatic, hooked up to a nice small (or big) block engine.

Huh. Never knew that was a factory option. First time I've ever seen it from the factory.

Around 30 years ago I was had a new flywheel in a box, I am halfway across the shop and someone says HAY....I turn tilt the box up (I guess) and that stupid thing came down on my left big toe, right at the base of the nail. Busted it clean in two. On the ride to the CO Dr. (never again) I could see my toe bend where it should not. No shot no nothing he takes a blade and slices it at the base of the nail to let the pressure out. Then he grabs basically needle nose grabs the nail and just rips it off. The tearing actually made a sound.

Nail never grew back right, and years later I had the nail removed and the nail bed killed so no nail will grow back. Still tender all these years later.

Just last weekend I dropped an 8' long 16" wide 3/4 sheet of OSB on my toe. I thought I would put my fist through a 6x6 post.

No, I dont need help hurting me. I liked the upright style of this one, I cant get up off of a drift trike, there way too low for old fat guys. Donnie and me know where there is a motercycle junk yard, were going to take a field trip and see if we can find a couple of 100 cc to 200 cc bikes for donors.
I didnt realize your wheel barrow was that small, your just going to build a static model then, get someone to 3D print you a hemi to put in it. I downloaded a gm 671 blower that I want to print and put on my gasser pedal car, someday!

Not much is happening. Still working on the Grunt ('10 Silverado) gas tank. Didn't work on it Monday or Tuesday, was out of Oxy acetylene needed to cut out a stripped bolt. Burned the bolt out last night. Should have it on the road tonight.

I am back on the mend, but it seems this is going to be a slow heal. Been doing my daily exercises for my shoulder, but lateral raises can't go very high. Foot still hurts to put a shoe on
