Gents. Thanks for checking in on me, makes me feel all warm and fuzzy. Or is that because I just pooed my pants? I'm old, tired, and moving as fast as I can. Her she shed is lurching along, girts 85% done. Thought I was done with the purlins cause the sheet said 4' on center, but we had WAY too much lumber left. So now I have to find a way to go back and put them 2' on center. Nights are spent putzing on the Girlfriend. Putting in a 383 Vortek is requiring some minor changes, including wiring, fuel, and exhaust. The exhaust is changing because I found a set of coated shorty headers for OBS trucks with cats. No cats, much work. Pics are coming, honest, just swamped.

Hey guys, thanks for dropping by. The new OS makes it harder for me to save my pics, hence the lack of updates. Once I get a good system figured out, I'll get everyone up to speed, I promise

Considering that we're living in the future, this should be easier.

Dunno if you have an iPhone, but it's pretty easy to post pictures from your camera roll. Of course I hate typing on my phone, so I have this hack workaround where I start the post on my computer then add pictures on my phone. It's a pain.

Glad to hear you are still kicking...

Posting pictures was so much easier with tapatalk, but the security issues weren't worth it, I too sometimes start the post on the computer, then add photos later from my phone.

I hope all is well on the Homefront and shop life.

I'm hanging in there. Super busy and don't have time to upload any of the pics. The big news is that the middle daughter is getting married this coming Saturday. Wife is trying to hold up, what with all the stuff that needs to be done. To top it off, my son is riding in from Texas Friday, then leaving the reception as soon as it's polite to leave (3700 miles round trip). Supposed to be top shelf shindig, just glad we're not paying for the groom's side. I think the chow is $125 a plate.

Wow, that is a long drive, has the cost of flying in the USA gone up that much so driving such a long distance is cheaper or is it not just your son coming?
Wishing your daughter a long and happy marriage!

He's not driving, he's riding his bike. I doubt he'll use $500 for gas, which is roughly what the flight would have cost. He loves to ride his bike. He expects to put over 7,500 miles on it the month of June.

Long bike ride, don't think my back would survive it, wow $500 for an internal flight, prices have gone up a lot since I last flew from the East to the West Coast which is a bit further to go.

Back last fall I did a little favor for the neighbor. Brought his carriage home with the strangest horse ever. I added head lights, tail lights and mirrors to his buggy. The trick was to do it in such manner that if he decides to remove them, there’ll be very minimal trace that the changes were ever made.

I got it done just in time for him to take his wife to the local church's trunk-or-treat.

On the She Shed front, we were doing so well. I had all but 4 of the trusses up, when we had a pretty stiff bunch of wind come through. We had 3 fall over and another 4 hit the ground and broke. Able to scab one back together. Got them all up and got most of the girts up. Went to return the man-lift, but it got a little stuck. Ok, maybe a ton stuck. The neighbor’s Kubota just made a mess. Went to pull both the lift and the Kubota out with Claudia (the bulldozer), but the wiring caught fire. Called it an evening. Then hooked up the Old Mule and it walked it out until we got to the corner. Hooked the Kubota to the Old Mule and was able to drag the mess out to solid ground.ML2.jpgML3.jpgML1.jpgML4.jpgML5.jpgML6.jpgML7.jpgML8.jpg

I finally got tired of the engine issues in the Girlfriend. Ok, really pissed. A friend at church likes to build engines, so I had him build a 383 for her. On top of being a stroker with a cam for low end torque, it got an Edelbrock intake and carb, and a set of headers. It even has a fancy chrome air cleaner. The second test of the BS3000 (the first was loading the 6bt engine and trans) made all the effort of building worth it.

One of the rare spots of down time this past spring was to take my daughter to see “Six, the Musical”. Talk about a rare bit of testosterone in a sea of estrogen, I bet I was one of less than a hundred men in a crowd of 2,200 people.

On the new project front, the first clue will be useless to you, but it’s something I’ve wanted for almost 30 years. I promise I won’t make you wait as long as my update gap to give you the answer.

And today’s hint on the project is last year I bought a similar device.

Oh, I forgot to mention that my wife bought yet another project for me to work on. Sigh. She named it “Clifford, the Big Red Dodge”. Pics of that tomorrow.

The next step on getting the Girlfriend squared away was to add a second gas tank. In order to do that, I needed to move the hoist pump. The only place to put it was right over the right muffler. My bead rolling needs work, but it serves its function. Another issue was that the corner of the cab had been hit. It needed some persuasion to allow the tank to slide in.

After that, it was time for Region 9 SO.

RSO 1.jpg

This one is that you take a CD, add fins to it, and see who can spin the CD the fastest as determined by the voltage output.

RSO 2.jpg
RSO 3.jpg

The object of this one is to get the laser beam as close to the target as possible, obviously. The deal is that it’s timed, and one of the blocks isn’t moveable.

Next hint is that the new toy is a weapon of self destruction. Waiting to hear some guesses.
