Love the hold down for bending your strap
Hahaha

Most expensive hold down I've ever had.

Truth!

Breaking in is always so much heartburn.

X, I need to build a new blast cabinet, I cant access the glass in mine to service it the way they built it and I would like to be able to blast something the size of a pedal car.

I would think a man with your skills would be able to alter an existing cabinet to make the "glass" accessible. Mine is nothing crazy, just some "Z" steel and foam.

I'm a bit jealous of your blasting cabinet. I'd love to have one, but half of the time the things I'd like to blast wouldn't fit in one.

This holds a 16" dually wheel. Anything bigger, I break out the pressure pot blaster.

Got the battery hold down complete on Sunday and did a couple of sprayer runs down the road to watch the pattern. It looked really weak and inconsistent. So I took the Tim Allen approach (which JollyGreen says is always the right approach) and ran 24v. Got much better results.

The garden tractor worked rather well even on the neighbor’s rototilled field. We were a little worried when we didn’t see the grass/weeds die. Too cold meant the greenery was semi-dormant. It’s fairly brown now, win for the home brewed sprayer.

Back to the miss on the Girlfriend. I took the chance that it was a timing chain. As a bonus, the old cover didn’t have any timing tab. New cover, chain set, and a harmonic balancer (in case the groove wasn’t right for the new cover) and all is right as rain. Next up is the left side exhaust manifold, then ALL new rear brakes.

Glad to see the GF getting serviced right.

Gotta keep them happy. You know, the squeaky wheel thing.

She's earned double every penny we've put into her. She towed home the mini excavator without issue, then hauled 4 loads of stumps to the brush pile. Tomorrow's workout is going to be tough on her, a 30" pine tree and an 18"-20' stump

So the hemp thing is my wife’s project, I’m just an advisor/grunt. She plowed the neighbor’s field as practice for ours. It didn’t turn out bad for a rookie. Now we need to get the field and shop site cleared of trees and stumps.

I don't know what it is but I could plow all day and still want to do more.

It depends on the day for me. I've got way too much on my plate, so since it's her gig anyway, she gets to do it. She enjoys it, but it doesn't come naturally to her. I'll be honest, it was way cool to watch her use the sprayer knowing that I pretty much built it from scratch.

I’ve been under the crunch to get the GF back to running good so we could bring this little rental toy home on the neighbor’s gooseneck. No issues bringing it home. SWMBO got all but the biggest stump pulled in the shop area. We got the west part of the field cleared. The east side has been giving her a little heartburn.

Back to the GF. I’ve been having issues with exhaust leaks, ugh. New fiber doughnuts disintegrating, manifold nuts backing out, exhaust gaskets getting blown. Finally the left side manifold blew out. It sure is nice to be able to hear myself think when she escorts me around.

Exhaust issues like that drive me bonkers, the noise changes all the time, until you get on the open road, then it just drones on and on. What is left to do on the GF?

When my GF has exhaust leaks I find some Pepto helps.

The Boss never seems to have that issue. I on the other hand, put out more methane than the nearest dairy farm

A ton. Next is complete new rear brakes, from the frame hard line back. Then relocate the hoist pump so I can add a second gas tank. After that is trans input shaft seal, intake gasket (I think that's my last oil leak), and u-joints. Pretty up the box and make adjustments to the sides to clear a gooseneck. If I can get that done this summer, I'll work on a new cab for her over the winter. Hopefully the wife will have a "new" truck for the spring next year. MAYBE then I'll finally get to work on the '52.

I've cut back on the amount of nuts I was eating, so my production has slowed considerably, but still...............

The cab replacement may be expensive, those styles are collectible now......

I know, Squarebodies are super hot right now. I have a "decent" replacement already. It just needs the passenger rocker replaced. This isn't going to be a show truck, just looking for a presentable work horse.

Dr. Pimple Popper doesn’t have anything on us. The cedar tree came out in about 15 minutes, and the big cherry came out in about 45. While we had the excavator I used and abused it heavily. I went to put this on the brush pile, but the thumb didn’t have enough grunt and rolled out of the bucket. It took about 3 tries to get it on the pile.

Well here's hoping that you're able to get some time to work on the GF. Not only because I want to see what you do with it, but I also really want to see what you do with your '52.

The trees that came out, are they coming out to make room for the field?

JG, most of the trees were pulled for the shop addition. We had about 6 to clear in the field, about 10-12 for the shop, and about 8 stumps for the garden expansion. On the flip side, SWMBO has planted about a dozen lilacs. And the hemp is really good at the CO2 conversion thing. I'm dying to get on the '52, but "Happy wife, happy life".

X, That's a lot of work but it will be nice to work a clear field.

HJ2, thankfully it wasn't labor intensive. Robin did most of the work, I just did a couple of the big ones, and cleaned up the mess.

New rubber, quiet (er) exhaust, no giant puddles. IMHO the girlfriend is already more respectable than most 2012 mini dumpers.

She's getting there. Hopefully by the end of the weekend, she'll stop on a dollar. Let's face it, even brand new, they didn't stop on a dime.

Might want to give it a fiver. Extra space is good.

Over the weekend, we plowed OUR fields. Our plow has a busted moldboard. The neighbor’s plow has no coulters. Solution, parts swap long enough to do the job, then swap it all back when I finished. The sandy side (east) plowed and disced up really well, the west just wanted to ball up. No worries though, the neighbor took the rototiller to it and it came out almost like glass.

The Old Man scraps and Mom loves to garage sale, so they end up getting us all kind of goodies . Brought home a truck load after dropping by and spending time with Mom on her special day. Pressure washer with a leaking gas tank and cracked water manifold, a gas hedge trimmer missing the front handle, 6’ of ¼”-20 all-thread, a bent up utility cart for the garden tractor, an echo straight shaft trimmer that starts but won’t run, and a radio flyer wagon for me to hack, if I ever get the time.

Thanks, Jon. I was very pleased about how the east side turned out. And it was a huge haul that involves a ton of little repairs to make it usable. But that's to be expected when the price is right. Every thing was pulled out of someone's trash.

Momma finally got her hemp seed in the ground last Tuesday. Talk about impatient, I thought I was bad. She planted in the middle of a light bit of hail.

How long before it yields anything? I am not up on hemp.

She'll probably cut it mid/late September. You literally leave it to rot, laying in the field for about a month after that. Then you can bale and process it. I'm hoping for enough for one or two round bales.
