On the GF front, I put in the new timing chain, chain cover gasket, and oil pan gasket on. Since we don’t know what the engine came out of, it was a royal pain trying to get the right timing chain set. The block number only told us it was a Vortek. It does have 2 bolt mains, and the final call is that I’ll be using ’92 C/K10when I need internal parts for it.timing chain.jpg

Cool stuff, thanks fro sharing. I am actually surprised that the engine serial number didn't make figuring things out easier. I guess whenever you buy an engine, you want to get the VIN to.

You're welcome. The problem was that we had no clue what the engine came out of, just that it was a TBI motor.

Good to see your making progress on projects, but that you're also taking time for family.

Are tourist type places busy there?

Most of the stuff was pretty empty. Cave on the Mounds, and House on the Rocks were pretty packed. Can't imagine what they'd be like on a summer weekend.

Thanks for sharing pictures of your vacation.
You're very welcome.

Can you guess what this is? We don’t have the money to rent a Skylift to put up the headers and trusses, so I’m making a pair of brackets/fixtures to clamp to the top of the posts, and that I can mount electric winches to.

While I was trying to measure the posts, the, the tape kept slipping off the nails I used to mark level, so I used this high-tech gadget to resolve the issue.

But wait, there’s more. Bought this because I want some interior parts off of it for the ’52 COE. We had to fight getting this onto the trailer, and fight to get it off the trailer. I’m hoping I can sell the rest for about what I paid for it. We’ll see.Organ Donor.jpgOrgan Donor 2.jpgOrgan Donor 3.jpgOrgan Donor 4.jpg

Strouty and I must be related, I swear.

I rode one of those back in the day.
Before I was Harley Jim,
They called me Honda Jim!
I'm not surprised. Any pics of you on it back in the day.
In the kindest way................yes
Don't sugar coat it. I'm guessing that he'll admit to being more than a little insane. I know I am.
Step one on the CL350: Gut the mufflers and install Snuff R Nots..
What are they, and why would I?
Andy Martin used a Gin Pole truck to set a septic tank. Wonder if the posts could be made into similar
When you see what I rig up, you can tell me if I'm on the right track
The Honda looks pretty complete. Hope you get it running again.
It's very complete. As far as I know, it's only missing the side covers. It hasn't been running since the early 90's.

Kirk, I loved the '56 Cadillacs when they were new and still love them today. My favorite was the Eldorado but the Sedan deVille was one of the few 4-door cars I thought looked cool. Little stuff like the door handles hiding in the window trim was cool enough to not need electric poppers.

The only 4-door I loved more was the '57 Eldorado Brougham.

Sweet Caddy. Make for a great wedding limo.

Maybe, but I'm not going to do it. I'm going to take a few parts I want from it, see if it starts, then sell it.

So, are they supposed to help the performance? How do they sounds?

You need that front bumper on your coe20221102_185813.jpg

I'll be checking to see how it looks on the truck.

That was one of the first things I noticed about the vehicle. The Sonic is kind of the same rear door handle, part of what I like about it.

Sounds like an interesting combo, I can't deny that it makes me want to do some crazy project.
So you feel better I am going tomorrow morning to but a crew cab shell for one of my trucks.

Isn't that exactly what you're planning for the Perk?

And we went to House on the Rock (way cool), but didn’t do Taliesin (House on the Rock wore us out).

THe BiL is into pool, and this was doll house sized. The whale/squid thing is about 3 stories high. Robin wouldn't go up that high.
Geez I wish I had know you was this close you was only 10 min from my house if you was at the House on the Rock.

that is a super neat place to go threw that is for sure!

That's twice now I've been to the Cheese Head state and I didn't drop by a friend's place when I was nearby. In my defense, I was, and still, am very concerned about getting SWMBO's "She Shed" put up.
