You can get a 9 inch long-shank bit holder from snap on.

It don't really matter, I have a set of 60 security bits and 18" worth of extensions. If the screw is surface accessible, I don't have the right bit. If the screw is downhole, the collar on the extension is too fat to get downhole.
The real security is the only guy who has a tool to reach the screw is the guy who assembled it, and the manufacturer makes damn sure the tool used to assemble is not available.

I have welded the right security bit to a donor screwdriver shaft before. Not pretty, but it works.

I had to buy an 8" phillips screwdriver because the shoulder on my screwdriver bits was too wide to fit with a battery powered dragon...
Battery powered dragon, where I come from we just call that a drill or screw-gun.

They used a proprietary connector for the 9.6V battery. The 8" screwdriver just reached the screw head to take them out.
I just realised.. If you'are just a casual dyier you're better off buying Torx security and Hex security instead of normal Torx and Hex, because the security bits work for normal Torx/Hex screws too (they are the same except that hole in them)

Sometimes girth is an issue if the 1/4 hex goes all the way down the shaft.
