AC disconnect under window?

My reading of the NEC is that an AC disconnect just needs to be "readily accessible" and less than 2 meters from ground.

You can see the pad in the picture. I can't go further to left as there is a 5' from property line city requirement for the outdoor unit.

The manufacturer recommends (since the cord exits from ride side of outdoor unit) that the disconnect be placed just to the right and just above the unit. Unit is 32" wide and 22" high.

So just to the right puts it underneath the window (which does not open). There is an 8" roof overhang plus 4" gutter overhang.

What's the question?

Under a window is perfectly fine if that's what you're asking.

so youre gonna use the existing 20a circuit? what does the nameplate on the A/C unit call for?

also, you will need a receptacle nearby for servicing.

Please stay on topic. Neither of the above is answering the question that was asked. I don't need help with the ampacity of the branch circuit or other code issues.

I'm just asking if there are any issues with installing a disconnect under a window. Drip edge, moisture etc. I cannot see any NEC code prohibitions.

Thank you!

Just Wow!
If you are triggered by the responses you shouldn't have asked the incredibly simple question you posted. The answer is yes.
It would lead others to believe you need help with other issues as well.

If you don’t know the basics about mounting a disco it can easily be inferred there are other issues too. This is not the place to get butthurt.

You solicit free advice over the internet and then you're complaining about the responses you get?

Staying on topic and answering the question asked is a useful forum skill. I am aware that no-one above thinks so.

We can keep going here if you guys want but it doesn't seem very productive to me.

Your question was answered in the very first reply. And again in post #6. Now that you have your answer, feel free to abandon this thread.

Not that I agree with that statement, but if it were true, I'd say it's because of posts like YOURS, not the other people in this thread...

There are hundreds of comments on *this* forum alluding to this. It's become almost an in joke here that people can't stay on topic. I'm not going to burn my time finding them, if you're this desperate to know, do your own searching.

Well, his username is crazybrit, after all.........

I just think it's interesting that the unit cannot be moved to left, because it cannot be closer than 5' from the property line. The building, however, goes left right out of the camera view.
So, I guess buildings can be right up to the property line.

Is this your first day on the Internet?

On every forum, on many, if not most, threads, there is thread drift.
Oddly, the same thing happens in personal conversation........

Going off-topic would be asking a question such as "have you considered replacing the window?", "which thermostat do you use to control your a/c?" or the ever-popular "which brand is best for a new a/c system?".

Totally legit followup question if the original question was already answered.

OP, my 2 cents... don't be rude when people like wyliesdiesels are trying to help the topic. Answers to a question and some followup... help others as well.

If you are happy with your 1 answer of yes you can put a disco under a window. My suggestion, ask a mod to close the thread.
