AC disconnect under window?

My reading of the NEC is that an AC disconnect just needs to be "readily accessible" and less than 2 meters from ground.

You can see the pad in the picture. I can't go further to left as there is a 5' from property line city requirement for the outdoor unit.

The manufacturer recommends (since the cord exits from ride side of outdoor unit) that the disconnect be placed just to the right and just above the unit. Unit is 32" wide and 22" high.

So just to the right puts it underneath the window (which does not open). There is an 8" roof overhang plus 4" gutter overhang.

I'm just asking if there are any issues with installing a disconnect under a window. Drip edge, moisture etc. I cannot see any NEC code prohibitions.

If you are triggered by the responses you shouldn't have asked the incredibly simple question you posted. The answer is yes.

If you don’t know the basics about mounting a disco it can easily be inferred there are other issues too. This is not the place to get butthurt.

So, I guess buildings can be right up to the property line.

OP, my 2 cents... don't be rude when people like wyliesdiesels are trying to help the topic. Answers to a question and some followup... help others as well.

If you are happy with your 1 answer of yes you can put a disco under a window. My suggestion, ask a mod to close the thread.

Yes under the window is fine BUT an AC unit could be fairly noisy and if you use the room and ever open the window that may be annoying.

Judging by the pile of $hit on the other side of the window, I doubt much noise will make it inside.
