Hi !
i only have these other pics so far:

DSC00006-7.jpg

DSC00010-6.jpg

Im curious, Does that jack have a standard release where the pressure is released via a knob? or do you release it and pump it down with the handle. Im trying to figure out why there is a line running to the release end of the cylinder similar to 2 way cylinder.

To release the pressure, you pull back on the handle slightly and turn left. So easy and very precise.

Im baffled then, I cant figure out what that line is going to end of the jack. I take that back i think its a resevoir feed line, Lowest point when the jack is lifting account the fixed point is on the end. I'm a freaking genius.

I'd be up for a group buy on the jack stands. Maybe we could import them direct from Denmark.

Hello ,I'm New here but I have been looking to get one of the AC low profile jacks . In for a group buy.

It appears they can get just about anything from the complete AC line into the states. My wallet might be getting set up for a serious beating. I better start the savings plan tonight. Here's the response to an email I sent off inquiring about the WJN10 shop crane:

Dear Greg

Sorry for not getting back to you earlier.
I'm out of the office until Tuesday October 13 next week and at that time I will send you a quote for the Shop Crane, in stock. Shipping to the USA is not a problem.

Best regards,
Flemming Lauridsen

The DK13's would run around $500ea + shipping from NJ but I'd have to buy 50pc to get this pricing. Not sure a group buy of 2 or 3 people will work. AC Hydraulic is looking for a US distributor but there's an initial buy-in of at least 75 jacks and a 5-6 week delay before shipment.

If Flemming can do the $500 price now, I'd suggest buying from him. There should be no customs due on floor jacks...only shipping charges. Steve

Why wouldn't there be any customs on floor jacks?

I'm glad you mentioned it now before I placed an order for 100 jacks. Its a tough market for a $600 floor jack, especially with 2 importers. The product liability insurance was going to be an issue anyway.

AC is makes a great product....you'll sell all that you get but unfortunately not at the kind of margins you'd like, Steve

I would think it would extremely difficult in todays times to selll a $600 dollar 2 ton jack. I dont question the design but I have alot of experience in the Rebuilt side of this market and when you factor in the economy, people only seeing the Big numbers (ie 3.5 ton harbor freight jack for 69.99 on sale) it makes it difficult. The customer base might be there and im just unaware it, I would venture to say 90% of my jack sales comes from people who are aware of the Brands from a previous ownership or knowledge. Not to mention im selling rebuild jacks with the same warranty you get from the manufacturer New at Less than 50% of new price.

I have a DK13HLQ I bought from Ebay late last year. I think I paid close to $800 for it including shipping, but I must say it was worth every penny. I build lowrider VWs, so a low jack is a must. It's nice to have one of those cheap Aluminum ones around since they're so light and easy, but you can't beat the reach and height of the DK13HLQ. There are some nice chinese ones, but the quality is questionable. A friend has the Omega 29023 and it's not nearly as nice. I have not tried the Ranger or ATD low profile jacks, but I assume it's the same story - good enough, but not great.

Here is a comparison with my oil-puking Craftsman. If someone else in the shop borrows it and doesn't bring it back, I can just follow the oil trail :bounce:

I am going to personally check into Hiballs website for myself. I need a better jack.

Any updates? I love DK13 jack and I know a couple of guys who would love to buy one after seeing mine. I managed to buy mine last year from ASE Deals shortly before they disappeared from the U.S. market - you Steve didn't seem to have them at that time any longer (so I just bought the Esco stands from you).

I posted the link to this thread on legacygt.com I frequent:

http://legacygt.com/forums/showpost.php?p=2700566&postcount=57

Maybe it will generate you some interest.

The Euro continues to get stronger and drive the US cost up. AC Hydraulic contacted me yesterday and asked if I was interested in being their US distributor. Two other larger players (Stertil Koni and Esco) couldn't sustain the line without problems and let it go and that was during good times. I doubt I would do any better, especially with the higher selling prices.

I think these jacks are a specialty boutique products and need to be directly marketed to car enthusiasts on enthusiasts car forums. This is really where the market for them is. Requires more work, but I guess it should not be impossible to sell them in decent numbers. I'd encourage you to give it a try.

No doubt Ultgar knows his market better than I. I think there's always a market for quality -- maybe these days with Walmarts and all that other stuff -- it's a niche market. I would've bought one if it was available here in the US.

I like Ultgar's product offerings by the way. I haven't placed an order yet, but those ABA clamps, Spax screws, etc. is good stuff :pimpflash:

count me in on a group buy; or if someone knows a line
on these jacks let me know.

I am tired of the Sears leak-out-fluid-and-die specials.

A word of advice.......if you've got a sports car or any lowered vehicle, do not get the DK20HLQ.......stick with the DK13HLQ or DK20Q. Its disturbing that the only North American distributor would not ask you about vehicles and clearance issues. SD

If it`s made in spain then the manufacturer is obviously MEGA

Griots has the low profile version, also made in spain (Mega t-2X) for 399 $

i would check these out !!!

I'm left trying to decide what to do with the wheels.

You should be able have the rings made that go around the wheels. I'm not sure they are really o-rings. I go a set of the wheels without the rubber rings from Steve at the Ultimate garage. I had the place that makes hoses make rings for my wheels.

What is the opinion of these? They look like a good compromise.
Griots seems to be the only source. What about parts? Service?
(hoping to never need either)

Once we start talking four figures for a floor jack, then I might as
well step up to an actual two post car lift for 2k.

It sure seems like someone would have made a DK13HLQ knock-off by now!

I should have bought one way back when they were like $400...but at the time it seemed like a lot of money.

There are several Chinese knock-offs........not as good and nowhere near the 28-29" lift height of the DK13. SD

I'd love to pick up the DK13HLQ... if only we had a distributor here in the US.

No other jack cuts it close in quality and build

Well lets not get carried away, I dont dispute the AC Hydraulic jacks but there are plenty of Quality jacks available here in the States that when used properly will provide a lifetime of use.
