15 minutes 2 pound of r135 ? $150.00 does that seem right?

No. No one can fix a leak in 15 minutes. If you had a flat tire, would you pay a tire repair cost if they only put air in it?
I didn't say any one fixed a leak. they added refrigerant and said "we will see how long it lasts"
I suspect the coil is going bad for the 4th time.
3 copper coils in 3 years (totally new unit)the last was a custom made aluminum coil that has been there 2 years
there is something in the atmosphere in this area that will eat copper and brass
I have to cover the copper water line in the basement to keep it from turning black
There have been issues with Chinese drywall doing the same thing to copper.
Many manufacturers have had issues with coils failing, some brands worse then others.
We had a dentist office that had odor problems after we installed a new A/C, something in the air was reacting with the coil, we were able to have a new coil coated with an noncorrosive coating and that seems to have cured it.

I used to be in the HVAC field.
Last week, I was doing some spring cleaning and found a brand new 30 lb of R-22 that I forgot I had. Score!
I installed my current system myself, in 98 and have never had to add an ounce of R-22. Fingers crossed!
Have any of you guys priced a jug of r22 lately?
I bought a couple 30 lb jugs last week for $825.00 each.
I also I bought 2 jugs of nu 22 for like $200.00 each for units that are bone dry that people can't pay the insane prices for r22 after I fix the leaks.
I miss the early 90s when a jug of r22 was around $25.![]()
Do the drop in R22 replacements work well? Can you top them off with those?
