I'm up to #41 now. Don't intend to slow down
Wish I had some more garage updates but I'm kind of hesitant to spend more money on the garage. We have been thinking about moving and downsizing so I would just start fresh in that case.

Very interesting story. More like a roller coaster ride. Sorry to read about so much dissatisfaction. I did my research on floors and had a commercial company do mine with polyaspartic red/white/blue quarter inch flakes. My front bay was 70 yrs old concrete and the back bay was 8 yrs old. Both cars come and go as necessary. Zero issues with the surface, I put square carpet tiles under jack stands, but nothing down under the commercial floor jacks. Good luck on your floor
On another note, I hope you pour as much money into your son's education fund as you do into cars. I went through that. One used MB for 16 years and kept one of my classics.

Consider porcelain tile. I'm surprised you didn't mention it as an option since you originally posted you wanted a museum space. It is a lot of up front money, but look close at the dealer show rooms to see how they hold up over time. Just my two cents. Great cars, I hope you and your son have a great time bonding over them in your garage space!

Quite the story, thats for sure! My wife and I can definitely relate to you and your wife with the multitude of different cars. I just went page to page, thanks for the R&D on the flooring and helping me decide I want the free flow RaceDeck, for the cleanliness and possible damage with jacking, etc.
Im totally jealous of the GT4. Ive grown up around my grandparents Porsche club and Ive always been working towards getting mine one day...
If you dont mind me asking, what is it you do for a living? I did notice you mentioned the USMC Ball, so im guessing you are prior marine?

He said he got them at Costco/K-mart, I think he mentioned somewhere around $1900 for everything

I'm at 42 now...man I have an illness! I really want another blank canvas as well. I guess I treat the world like a video game and relish the change to "replay" and try things differently each time.
Thanks! I hope to hang on to this one for a long time. I wouldn't say lucky but maybe financially irresponsible and a risk taker lol. I'm not at all happy with the flooring for a garage that I work in and is frequently used. I think the next garage will probably be either high grade porcelain tile or just a polished concrete floor and let the patina do its thing.

I actually work for Porsche currently...it's not great money (my wife makes nearly double what I do) but I love my job for once. Hope to stay for the long haul. I was a reservist but I'm finishing my contract out in the IRR at present.
Main set was a Costco deal via online and the extra two tall cabs were from Kmart online with a coupon code. I had to assemble those though. I'm with you though...I can't stomach that much money for cabinets when it could go towards the cars.

Another minor update...not the garage itself again though.
Picked up another vehicle. The E46 M3 is going up for sale very soon. I can't keep pouring thousands into that thing. As a 150K mile daily AND track car, it has become too expensive to keep owning it. After driving a Fiesta ST on the Nurburgring this summer when I was over there for business, I was smitten and bought one. It'll be much cheaper to daily and I can track it without much needed as far as maintenance.

Final update: we are listing the house and looking for something cheaper/smaller and a little shorter of a commute. This is the last and most current update before I begin a new garage journal. I'm looking forward to a fresh start to do things differently.
Since the last update the only things that have changed are 2 different cars: GT4 replaced by 2010 GT3 and my wife's Cayenne was totaled so she got a used X5 to replace it.

Wow. A lot has changed since I read your duel Euro Delivery Post. Good luck with the new house hunt. So is the GT3 just a weekend car with the Fiesta the daily/Track or will it be a track toy as well (afraid to ask how much parts for that would be).

GT3 is kind of dream car / track car. The Fiesta is my daily (and boy it is a fantastic daily driver) but also my budget track / small track car. I would split my track days between the two. The Fiesta is great for smaller tracks as I can keep up with the big dogs with the nimbleness and the torque but it is too slow past 100mph so tracks like Road Atlanta I don't take it. The GT3 I also have to pay for track insurance on so I need to spread that out but it would be suitable for higher speed tracks like Road Atlanta.
GT3 is #44. I think... Starting to second guess myself and lose track now that I'm at these numbers

Late to the party here and subsequently raising this thread from the dead, but just wanted to say phenomenal cycle of vehicles through this garage. I don't know that I would've handled the flooring issues as well, but sounds like you moved on to somewhere new and won't go down any of the same flooring option roads again.
Either way, gorgeous vehicles... I'm really jonesing for a 6MT 981 at some point here, seeing the GT4 didn't help! Thanks for letting us tag along.

I'm actually surprised the photos still work. I thought Photobucket messed them all up.
We did move but shamefully I am dealing with a totally regular garage now. I've got 2 kids now, much less disposable income and the new house was kind of a last minute compromise so I've had little desire to invest in the garage. I have just makeshift shelving for now and a lot of what was in my cabinets is in the basement dormant.
I do regret selling the GT4 these days. The GT3 was short lived and was just too expensive to keep. It was a temporary YOLO move I guess. I went into a GT350 after the GT3 but got rid of that for a JK Wrangler so I could be responsible with the kids. Shortly after the last update of this post I'd bought my dream car: an R32 GTR and I've now had that for almost 4 years. Current stable is R32 GTR (will own this for life I guess), wife has a Pacifica van and I daily a Gladiator. Not going to mess with the garage any here but the next house we want to build from scratch and I'm gunning for a detached garage to make all my own.
