Hello everyone,
I bought a house last year. I have the garage cleared out due to another project.. so I thought it would be a good time to "finish" the walls. The wall is finished and drywalled, except for about 12-16 inches at the bottom where the foundation blocks are exposed. I was talking to a buddy, and he said that could induce a mold problem, but a vapor barrier may help.
So my question is, can I put a vapor barrier over the blocks, and attach (possibly glue or something) the drywall directly to the block? There really isn't any room to add a firing strip or anything, because then the new drywall wouldn't align with the current drywall. If I place drywall over the block, it would sit flush. There is a 2x4 at the top of the block where I can attach the top of the drywall, but below that is just block.
Thanks!
