Had to add some wiring to my new garage, it was drywalled so went with EMT and very happy with the outcome, looks nice and lots of room to add more.

Ran 6/3 with 60amp breaker from House panel to sub panel:

1" EMT from Sub Panel to 12x12 junction box, 3/4" EMT down to Compressor plug

3/4" EMT to 4x4 Junction box, then to Welder Plug (NEMA 6-50P)

Once I get the highlift mod done to the single door I will be added a run of 3/4" EMT to front of hoist so I can plug it into the ceiling. I will also be adding some plugs on the hoist side wall (dropping 3/4" EMT down from junction box).

I used 50amp breaker with #6 wire for welder, 15amp breaker with #10 wire for compressor (240v) for future. Hoist will be 30amp #10 wire.

I like the 12X12 Jbox, you can hide stuff in it. Off topic... how are those Wayne Dalton idrives doing? I had one and it died after a few years. I started out loving it, but by the end I was ready to trash it.

I just moved into this house in December, the idrives are doing ok but I have heard that they are JUNK, when I get the highlift mod done to my single door, the idrive will be going away (it can't handle the highlift) and it's getting a liftmaster 3800. If iDrive dies on double door I have a brand new craftsman opener in the box. I think the only reason they are still working is because this garage is heated (with in floor), otherwise I have heard our cold winters are hard on them. And the 12x12 JB was overkill (was going to run 8x8) but I got it for nothing so why not?

Hi Baron,

Here is the car (excuse the garage mess). It's a 71 Chevelle project in the works right now, doing a 25.5 chassis, 295/55/15 drag radial, stock suspension (Wolfe rear and TRZ front). Nice cutlass! I just sold my 86 before Christmas that I had for 10 years (just a BBC/TH400/9" street strip car).
