should be, Carquest is AA, but seeing the info that's been posted here, YMMV on tool availability and what actually is for sale

What idiot with a marketing MBA decided to use a well-known battery brand name and put it on hand tools?

I would say that just about every adult in the United States has heard the name Die Hard.

Seems brand awareness is pretty damn important, I guess that's why you're not an idiot with a marketing MBA. :dunno:

I stopped by the closest AA to me last week. There were hardly anything marked down. I did pick up a set of metric Allen wrenches with ball ends for $6.99 and one of those two 90 degrees Phillips and flat screw drivers for $2 something.

Probably the same kind of dude that made Kirkland Signature into a $58B brand...

I saw one of the new Diehard wrenches in the store today. As expected they look and are packaged identically to the Gearwrench and TeqCorrect. They did have the teeth on the open end that some brands have been using. They must have lost a fortune on that TeqCorrect deal.

Late to the party again, didn't even know we had a CarQuest here until I drove by it this morning.

Rarely use the one here. Street parking, limited hours, and I don't have an account.

Schucks is the closest so usually use them.

Got tons more stuff tonight. I’m going to own Advance Auto before too long LOL. Man I don’t need to know about anymore tool sales. I still have 4 or 5 more locations around here to hit. The nice locations are the ones with tools actually in the isle and not behind the counter. However the employees at all of them have let us come behind there and get what we wanted. Have almost a complete set of ratcheting wrenches now and a bunch of other stuff too.

Just because they sold out before doesn't mean they haven't restocked them. I went into one last week that was totally cleaned out and they were somewhat restocked. The lady told me they are clearing out the warehouses and sending them to the stores that were able to sell them.

You aren't kidding. I just went in one today and the prices got stupid. I had decided I didn't need anymore tools but $6 for 1/2 Gearwrench ratchets got me started. I was in one that still had mostly Gearwrench and most of it wasn't marked. I ended up spending $143. They didn't even have what I was actually looking for. The 3/4 ratchet was still $91 and the extendable flex head pry bars weren't there.

I have been buying tools a semi regular basis from the local Carquest. Very little is on sale from what I could tell. Maybe I will try an Advance Auto to see if this thread is real. Gearwrench is the main brand of hand tools in my local Carquest.
