In my 8 years of dealing with seized bolts, I've never had a spray work. I obviously am 1) doing something wrong or 2) don't have patience.

Oxy Acet is the only thing to work. God gave us elements that weld a nut solid with rust and the elements to heat a bolt to 2000 degrees to remove it. Man gave us dirty chemicals to try improvise.

Also, make sure you have a good flex socket to get to the studs, asian and most german cars are a 17mm, american cars are either a 9/16 or 11/16

You must work on a pretty limited range of stuff if you've only encountered 3 sizes of exhaust hardware.

OP What exactly is it that you're working on?

Induction is not that hard. It can be done without a lot of technology. Google homemade induction systems. Lots of ways to do it. Even 60 Hz can be used. Look at the principles and figure out how to apply them with what you have around.
Can also use the conduction method to apply the heat where you want it with pin point accuracy.

We only do from the manifolds back, we dont replace manifolds, the closest thing we do to manifolds is pull the studs and put new gaskets/ or do most german flex pipes, and those are the 17mm, 9/16 and 11/16, i was just telling him the only 3 sizes I have seen while working during my time home from school. If there are other sizes forgive my inexperience.

13, 14 and 15mm are most of what you'll see on late model American stuff. Asians I've seen 12-14 mostly, occasionally 17mm and 19mm I don't have the misfortune of working on Euro cars much but they usually are 13 or 17mm.

I do transmission R&R so I only mess with an exhaust if I absolutely have to but that's what I've run into.

Are you talking about the manifold studs or the clamps that hold the exhaust components together from the factory?

I know it is considered a PITA, but the only way I have been able to get studs out

of my manifolds is to remove the manifold, chuck it in the vise, carefully drill the stub

of the stud out, then tap new threads in the hole. When putting the Y pipe back

on to the manifold, I use steel studs, but throw the steel nuts away in favor of brass

nuts. Next time, the nuts come off like they should.
