I had my new Bendpak XPR10AC lift installed Friday, nice. :bounce:
The problem is that the front arms, worse one side than the other, are rubbing on my nice Wolverine floor. I swapped the front arms from side to side with the pins, still the same. My floor is lower on the worst side.
With a level on the arms when it is resting on the stop, the 'bad' side is about 1/2" down which has thin shims, front and rear arms. When they installed the lift, the fastener bolts are about level if not just below the fastener nut. So putting a thicker shim under the baseplate does not seem possible with the present fasteners not having much meat left.
I was considering making up a shim / washer to go between the carriage and arms. Using shims and washers, it looked like I need 0.4" on the worst side to stop the arm rubbing on the floor.
Sources for these shims? About 1.5" hole, 4" diameter.
Any suggestions?

bd8134,

Shoot me an email.

[email protected]

I'll swap your arm(s) for sure. Sometimes when the arms go from fixture to weld, they can get out of spec as the welds cool. And it does not take much to change the slope with the arms in extension.

We'll get you all fixed up. Would not want to mess up that nice floor!

That is the same hoist I just installed in my shop, and I am very pleased with it.
I purchased it from Justin at Babco Equipment in Vancouver B.C. and their service was excellent. They have even sent a follow up letter to check on customer satisfaction.
I installed it myself, which leads me to my sole complaint about Bendpak; the assembly instructions are sketchy at best. I ended up doing a lot of trial and error, no big deal really, as it is all simple mechanics, but clear instructions would have saved a lot of time!
I have adapted an old motorcycle lift platform to fit my Bendpak, so that frees up a lot of floor space and I can still get the bikes up off the floor for servicing. We will soon be doing a similar adaptation to accomodate an ATV. I figure the more ways I can use the Bendpak the better

I know what you mean about the install manual, a picture tells a thousand words. I had mine installed, I had some messing around to cable the electrics, but it worked out very well in the end, still have not put the box cover on. Too much fun going up and down..

I used my lift today to tilt my trailer down to unload a ~500lb Lista 8 drawer mega cabinet. I am off to get some more cabinets tonight, I just might have to use it again...

This is my first lift and I am very pleased with it, so nicely built. With the support from Bendpak and how quick they are willing to help, makes me even happier with my choice.

I bought my lift from http://www.bestbuyautoequipment.com . I phoned 3 other dealers because I wanted the lift installed, only 1 called back with a price, $799 for install. For that price I would have done it myself. My guy was $599. They do not touch the electrics, they test it with 120v. The lift was delivered to the installer. Very nice lift.
