Disabling replies in this forum has taken what once was the greatest market place on the internet for tools down to an annoying pile of **** we have to sift through and HOPE we got to it in time.

I spend more time sending PM's and being told "it's sold" than I do actually buying tools now.

Change this back. This *****.

I can't help but ask, seeing as how this is the second such thread in as many hours; Was there not a poll where the vast majority was in favor of the change? :headscrat

Too many people were abusing the original system because they couldn't behave like civilized adults and follow a simple set of rules to keep it fair. As with most things in life, rules get put into place when people can't or won't do the right thing on their own, or refuse to think about how their selfish behavior affects other people. :dunno:

It may not be everyone's ideal solution, even I'll admit it isn't perfect by any means, but it is definitely better than dealing with the folks who can't play nice.

No Poll but Ryan did have a topic on the subject before the change was implemented.

The comment you quoted links to the poll Ryan posted, and the results show 8-1 in favor of the new setup.

I personally don't understand the big deal over a few extra comments in a classified thred, but this isn't my website to run...

Your issue should be with the sellers not updating their original posting and stating which items have been sold.

Other than that, this IS NOT a classifieds site, it is a garage/tool forum. The fact the classifieds even exist here is merely an added benefit. B*tch and whine too much about it, and maybe they might just remove the classifieds section entirely.

What I quoted does have a link to a poll and yes you are correct 8 to 1.

Absolutely.

Yes that is the issue here if you list it for sale you should update it when sold.
Really it is that simple.

I'm betting that most people who are upset at the comments in the classified section being removed are the people who caused it to be removed in the first place.

I'm not necessarily in love with the new format, but this is low stakes stuff. I'm not going to miss out on any deals for tools to keep my pacemaker running. At most, I'll miss out on some stuff I want/need, but the sun will still rise.

I guess you are correct.

Ryan made it work on the HAMB and over on that forum members get very fussy if you do not follow the rules so in time I am sure we will find a pace and flow to follow so to speak and it will run/work as well here as it does on the HAMB.

I will add the same comments about response are also happening on the HAMB and it would be the same there as it is here, meaning and I quote
the people who caused it to be removed in the first place.
simply because they can not respond.
