So getting ready to install wiring for t30 Ingersoll compressor with an auto time condensate drain with and contactor for the motor and I'm going to add and on/off switch to my contactor being my compressor shares a wall with my master bedroom closet. So what I'm thinking is buy my wire with a third leg so I can run a neutral and hook my condensate drain into my contactor on/off switch so the drain isn't going off all night when compressor isn't running. So good idea bad idea or am I jut over thinking this ? I just don't want my wife to kill mainly if the compressor kicks on in the middle of the night and when the auto drain goes off every 45 minutes all the time.

If you're not going to allow the auto drain to work 24/7 your defeating it's purpose. You might as well just manually drain it.

I'm overthinking it for sure but I don't want the auto drain waking my wife up every 45 minutes or she is going to be one pissed of sob in the morning if see doesn't kill me in my sleep.

I think its a good idea. You'll need the neutral, and you'll need a fuse for inside the contactor enclosure to protect the 120V portion of the circuit for the auto-drain.

Buy a cheap 24 hour timer and set it to go off at noon or?? No brainer. Auto drains work on pressure shift and go off anytime. Ask my son how I know Or he knows..
