My grandfather passed away and left me a 100 galllon Air Compressor. 1 cycle i believe its called. While moving it one of the brass fittings broke off of the Pump. I believe its one of the 3/8 copper lines with brass fittings. The line comes off of the end of the (crank shaft) i assume?? There is a small rod protruding slightly out of the casing, i can see it has some travel.. And inside the brass fitting is what appears to be a check valve of some sort.
My young expierience would have me guess this is a line that pumps oil up the top of the motor, or vise versa, and im guess the check valve is there since the oil line is verticle? Or is this an air line to help fog the oil?
I guess what i am trying to find out, is what is the actual name of these fittings, I kinda understand what they do (i think) Im just having a hard time explaining it to people when i am asking about the parts to fix it. And i kinda want to sound like i know what im talking about when i go to the parts house haha
