Air compressor / pipe fitting for drier help needed

Hi I just purchased a 33gal quiet Husky air compressor model C331H . I have been reading lots of threads about compressor driers so I am building one. I took the line that connects the piston to the tank off and am trying to find some fittings that I can use to attach some kind of flexible pipe (copper, air brake line, hydraulic line etc in place to route to my drier. The end of the line that I took off that connects to check valve/tank (picture with crescent wrench) looks like a compression fitting, but the fitting that connects to the piston has a high temp oring that sits in a groove on the line and then a small cap that screws on. I dont know if I can use a normal threaded connection and no oring because it does not look like there are many threads, but maybe some sealant would make it work? This line looks like it takes about 165psi and from what Ive read could get quite hot ~300F? Hopefully these pictures will add clarification. Any help is appreciated Thanks!

I would personally not open up the tubing coming from the compressor itself. Take the air coming out of the tank and dry that. There you will have standard NPT threads.

If you are hell bent on using what you have, I'd put the OEM o-ring fitting back together, then get a flare nut and do a 37 deg JIC single flare on that, to get back to standard hydraulic tube fittings. Parker has an entire tube fitting catalog full of parts.

If the OD of that discharge tube matches up with a common size, you could cut it off after it comes out of the compressor and use a compression-fitting union to mate to a much longer piece of copper (excellent heat dissipation) tubing - then form the copper pipe into a coil, or a bunch of loops, or however you want to do it (bonus if you fan-cool it).

Before you do something irrevocable with the line from the compressor to the tank, you might want to speak with Harbor Freight Tech Support about tubing sizes and fittings.
