I have following wrench in my collection:
This wrench came to me in 1996 or 1997 so I guess it is really made in USA, probably by Western Forge. This Allen means Allen Manufacturing Company, Hartford, Connecticut, est. 1910, famous for Allen Key. Then Chicago Pneumatic Tool Company, New York, aquired Allen Mfg. in 1956. And then it became a member of Apex Tool Group, finally Apex decided to cut Allen (and Armstrong) brand in 2017.
Following question: have Allen Mfg. ever been producing adjustable wrenches in its own plants? Or these wrenches were brought to Allen portfolio by Apex and always outsourced?
Then the main question: I understand Allen Mfg, Hartford is completly different to Allen Wrench & Tool Company, Providence, Rhode Island, correct?
Does anybody know the history and the profile of the Allen Wrench & Tool Company?
