So I am assuming that "thousands" was an exaggeration given only 2-3 charge cycles a day.

LOL, the first time i used my fuel 1/4 hex impact, it showed 2 bars left on battery. Those 2 bars drove 900 #8x2 screws in 2 hours. So would a full one drive 1800 in 4 hours? Pop in the second battery and you'd have another 4 hours to drive in 1800 screws.

These new batteries are good for thousands of screws per cycle. My new brushless impact doesn't even get hot.

Maybe the OP needs a Milwaukee then :lol_hitti

Thats impressive that you could average more than one screw every 6 seconds continuously over a period of 2 hours. What do you do for a living?

Carpenter. I was building a shear wall. The whole wall was 3" on center screw detail. These wrent loose screws tho, i used a screw gun clip held in my left hand and just impacted them in.

(heck I had to swap to the 110v impact recently after the cordless just couldn't handle the 1/2"x4 lags into very old barn wood)

To be honest, I'm surprised that is not your main/primary backup tool along with a Honda generator for remote locations.

I do understand that it weight a whole lot more than a cordless, so I am assuming that is why you don't use it.

Ok, thousands might be pushing it :) 832/day on average. You guys sure like to get technical eh? do I need to break it down by fastener size/length, installing/removing and into what substrate? because that'll take a while...

1/4hex vs 3/8 square - what difference would that make? It's the attachment method, the tools remain the same. Only difference is it's output shaft. And only rarely shear drivers (usually like the aforementioned uses where I probably should go to the 110v first, but always insist on trying). Would extend the life of the impact - mostly because I'd be swapping drivers constantly again.

the 110v impacts are too heavy for constant use - I know too many of the "old" door guys with screwed up wrists, arms and shoulders from relying on them into the 80s when they were able to start using corded drills (finally had enough torque). I'd rather avoid the RSI and spend more on tools (tools cheaper than healthcare)

Get the M12 Fuel too, it does 100 ft-lbs, weighs less, which will save some wrists. :) Just get a ton of the little batteries.

I had both the M12 Fuel hex and the M18 Fuel hex, plus the Fuel 3/8", and I sold the M18 Fuel hex since it seemed to overlap both tools, but not really excel at either. I bought the adapter mentioned above, but haven't used it yet, the M12 Fuel gun is stout.

I would opt for the Milwaukee given their 5-year warranty. Seems like that would cover your issues.

Milwaukee, matabo or bosch.

I have some bosch and motor fried, took 6 weeks to get repaired. Not sure if length was so long because bosch or the repair company, it was under warranty so it only costed me time. Warranty was really easy. Called up, got a rep on phone. Setup repair at authorized facility, drive to place took longer then call.
