Hi all,
First time poster, been lurking for a while. Been really browsing this forum alot because the house I bought a year ago came with an unfinnished attached garage, so I have been looking at ways to insulate/finnish/organize it.
Anyways, I have a nice 12x20 shed that I recently resided and put new used windows in. I really want to expand my storage space so Im looking to build a lean to onto my shed.
My previous house I had a cedar privacy fence. Twice I had to replace rotten post that rotted out right by the concrete. So Im looking for alternatives to anchoring posts for my lean to. I don't want to redo this, I want it to last for a long time.
I had an idea of fabricating a plate with four holes and make a 4x4 box with 1/4 plate to place the 4x4 wood post in then screw it to the 1/4 plates. That way it doesnt touch the concrete and could be easily replaced if it does rot.
Would this be strong enough or am I just overthinking this?
