The big change with the clamps is they are now admitting the China versions they ship are only worth $25. I think they started by claiming they were $80 or something.

Whoops, the latest offering is for Pony clamps, whereas the previous $8 clamps were Bessy. Pony use to be a big name in clamps, until they sold out to China’s Greatstar a few years ago.
So they are all the Chinese ones or it's a **** shoot?

The Bessy ones I got were China. Haven’t recieved the Pony ones yet, but I think they stopped US production completely in 2015 or so. The Bessy China ones were fine.

I think you will find that there is a great difference between the two clamps. One is a lot more clamp than the other. The Bessy clamp will weigh in a lot heavier than these Ponys. Look at the screws, the clamping force isn't going to be anywhere close. Don't get me wrong, Pony makes an identical, heavier duty line too, but this isn't it. I am sure these Pony clamps will be fine for most but there is no comparing the two.

is "pony" some name in c clamps? Amazon link says made in China. Still cheaper to your door than HF but am I missing something?
It's a long-time brand made by The Adjustable Clamp Company. They were made in the USA for quite a long time, but even they fell for the lure of the CCP government subsidization "free money."

This is a wild deal. Both Klein magnetic wire puller systems are in a bundle for $46, which is less than the cost of either bought separately.

Have you used this? Reviews seem very mixed, a lot of "doesn't work" and "magnet is too weak".

I don’t know how I survived without a "gimmick tool" like this for over 50 years in the electrical trade :eek7: ………. Save your hard earned money.

Home depot has been clearancing these individually for about 16 bucks. I got one

I've used the wheelie handle model with moderate success but fish tape is much easier.

I've used this version with great success. Magnepull Don't get your fingers between the 2 magnets. It will really pinch.

I almost bought it after seeing the first post. I'd probably try it for the $16 each deal, but the HD site is showing them at full price, not on local inventory. (I know that's not always accurate, but Klein clearance items around here have been picked clean for quite a while).

I too have my doubts, especially since one of the DIY jobs I've been postponing involves running a new wire alongside an existing one.

Shrewd1, great job staying on this one!

I sure hope anyone that purchased the Pony Adjustable Clamp 1480-C Adjustable C-Clamp, 8-Inch for $7.79 can see the error of their way when comparing this model Bessey to that model Pony. If I didn't need them today, for essentially the same money, I would rather take the chance on getting the Bessy in the future vs having the Pony now. You won't believe the difference between these two models.
