Bunch of Metabo on Amazon Prime Days

The Metabo HPT subcompact drill/impact combo is on sale for $101. These are powerful enough for everyday household tasks and super lightweight (brushless), and unlike the Milwaukee 12V system, these are 18V so you don’t need a whole different set of batteries. This is a real sale price, I think $130 is the everyday price.

I already had two of these and ordered a third.

IMO…. These feel the best in hand of any I have ever used (going back to the first 9.6 volt Makitas) Having said that and buying many, many copies, I switched to the Ridgid lineup because I got tired of the batteries dying leaving a perfectly good tool behind. I think I just sent the last setup off from my daughters garage last week when I was cleaning it.

Yellow Jacket 29985 1/4 Ball Valve 60" Charging Hoses- made in USA
$95

The regular price for these hoses is about $130 - $140. They don't typically go on sale anywhere. There are several SCAM sellers on Amazon listing these hoses for about $30. DON'T BUY FROM THESE SCAM SELLERS - YOU WON'T GET ANYTHING!

HOWEVER, the scam sellers' listings have tricked Amazon into thinking there is a lower price available. The consequence of this is that a legit seller - JB TOOLS - has had their listing reduced to $95. Click on "other sellers" and select the JB Tools listing that is shipped by Amazon via prime.

I ordered two days ago and just got my authentic hose set delivered a few minutes ago. It is in the manufacturer's packaging and is legit :)

I bought the KC18DDX kit ( the older kit @ $124.99 on amazon) for $129 at Lowes about 1-1/2 years ago. I love them. Surprised at the amount of power in these compact tools. Lightweight and nice to use. The impact driver trigger requires getting used to as it puts out goodly power almost right out of the gate. The drill has what feels like a brief 'soft start' delay in reverse which might help prevent stripping screw heads when removing them. After some time I bought an upgraded charger on ebay that has a fan and more informative charging lights.
No complaints overall but I did find the thinner handle uncomfortable with continuous bearing down hard compared to the fatter handle of my previous Makita drill. Nice combo.

If you have a business account, these are $17 right now. These are my favorite flavor of linemans. They have the tape puller, crimper, and dipped handles. I like the comfort grips but they're miserable to carry in a bag.

I was gonna pass, I mean $6.99 for shipping? But then I changed my mind cuz $24 + tax really doesn't kill the deal when retail new is $64.40. But then Amazon offered 30 days of free business Prime and only $9.99 for 1 year. Well twist my arm and make me buy it...so I did!

Thanks for posting @frampton (y)

In for 2.
One for the tool bag, and one for the shop.
Every time I take my 1997 Channellock Linemans pliers that are way overused and abused, I think "I need to replace these>"

Ok, I have to ask… what do you like about linesman pliers? I have never found a use for them & have always gravitated to other pliers, for really everything I’ve done from electrical work, automotive work, and even when we had horses on an acreage work. I have a couple pair of them but never reach for them.

Not trying to insult anyone, just trying to figure out if I’m missing something or not because I love the brand!

I bought a set of Klines linesman pliers for the sole purpose of installing crimps properly. I had to redo several that failed inspection due to improper crimp with wrong pliers type.

Crimping, twisting wires before wire nutting, and turning wire nuts if access is limited (too deep inside a box). The angle of the jaws when opened matches the angle of the cone of wire nuts almost perfectly and makes them very easy to turn. I don't think that was an accident.

probably the first tool electricans buy. but have to admit mine spend more time pounding on lock rings and knock outs than cutting wire.
Good ones (+ a screwdriver) will do 99% of everything needed for wiring, (sans conduit and drilling).

I certainly appreciate the feedback, it means a lot! I will try them again but with a better brand! Now where’s my CC?

Grab the Knipex linesman if they ever go on clearance again without worry. Returns are pretty easy. One of the reasons these sales happen, is Amazon charges third party retailers for storage if inventory takes too long to sell. The third party drops the price to clear out the inventory before the storage is due. I’m pleased with these, but I like my now discontinued Irwin’s more. Those were an even better clearance item.

this was posted a few months ago for $35.99. if i find something i like but don't want to buy right then for whatever reason, i put it in my wish list and note the price that way if it gets close sometime in the future i know what a good deal is considered and can buy even if it's not at the previous deal's price. usually it doesn't do me much good, but sometimes you can find an even better deal. here's an example and i just jumped on it.

28 Nut and Bolt Thread Checker, Kinok Bolt Size and Thread Gauge, 14 Standard & 14 Metric Sizes Bolt and Nut Identifier Gauge with Inch and Centimeter Ruler,All-Metal Board (Red Square) 27.99

There is also a version on sale that offers more thread sizes, for more money of course.

Thanks. I jumped on this. Recently had an odd thread o n a Dodge Caliber crossmember which turned out to be a M12 x 1.25. Had to go up to the board at Lowes to check. This will come in handy.

Huh? What makes you think the box end is flat. It isn’t. They are really nice, great value wrenches.
I have not been paying much attention to Craftsman tools lately. What's the COO of these and the V sockets just posted in this thread?

Most of the V-Series tools are made in Taiwan, including wrenches and sockets. Some, like pliers and screwdrivers, are made in France by FACOM.

The wrenches are very close to FACOM’s. Both made in Taiwan iirc. The hex sockets are similar as well, with some version of the anti-slip groves. Lots of pliers and screwdrivers are made in France by Stanley for many brands, including the FACOM brand.

For additional reference, I have both the Facom 440 set and this Craftsman set. My Facom set has a few more metric sizes and they are slightly better. There are reviews on the web.

I really like the organizer design.

As noted previously, this is a great deal on very quality wrench set. I ordered 2 additional sets to have in the car toolkits.
The sale is also at Lowes and Ace Hardware.

I have other V-Series wrenches (Ace Hardware sale, digital coupons). I'm very satisfied with their quality for their usage.

I do have a collection of other wrenches acquired over the years. Professional grade to disposable.
Because of that bolt/nut that requires special handling...
