Lets be honest, this is Garage Journal.

MOST threads on this site cost us money.

We all have to have the newest and greatest!

I don't necessarily chase newest and greatest, but occasionally come across great discounts, and tools that I never knew existed, that would probably make my life a LOT easier.

Having said that, I ended up buying into the M18 lineup after getting frustrated with older, cheaper battery tools, at the suggestion of someone on a different forum. But, GJ is where I find deals on newer M18 tools!

I've been wanting one of these for a while (haven't pulled the trigger) but this review is fairly comprehensive in case you also have been tempted (no relationship to channel):

note: one of the comments describes going through aliexpress w/a similar landing cost but the bigger gt24 collets which allow larger tapping and gets you a bigger motor.

Electric Tapping Arm with ISO Collets (Amazon): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B49Q6M22?th=1&linkCode=sl1&tag=clll016-20&linkId=f4bd1331aa4334cb3aaf4fdd0db3ef66&language=en_US&ref_=as_li_ss_tl full list of parts on video link.

So, uh, I ended up buying the inch size of these. I have a problem. A different problem is the metric system. I really wish America would go metric. I'm an engineer and I spend so much useless time converting units.

Can I be your friend?……… People say I am fun to hang out with.

Hey man, I'm a state away. Maybe our paths will cross!

Those masks are awesome! Very Squid Game.

I wish Knipex sold a set of their snap ring plyers. It's one of those tools that if you're doing any kind of mechanical work, you're going to encounter all types of snap rings. I bought the Lang set, but would've gone with Knipex.

They do have a set, I have it. It is great, has everything you would ever need.
I am not where I can get the part number right now, but can check later.

Just a FYI, before you actually bash a seller, As a EBay seller myself , i have experienced this. Depends on your postman IF they are picking up. My normal postman will scan the package pickup into the system , a substitute driver 95% of the time will not. So it sits for days in there system as it was created but never shipped, when it is in their hands. It also bites me in the *** with EBay because everyone of those goes against your statistics on your seller rating, get enough missed on time shipments and your no longer a top rated seller and lose their final fee discount. Dropping it off in the self service box doesn't always work either as they sometime don't scan it until it hits the actual distribution center. Your dependent on some lazy ******* at USPS to do their job. I used the self serve box and waited two weeks before it ever came through the system. I wont anymore and will wait in the line if i take a package there now and watch them scan it in. I asked and they said it was probably sitting on the truck at the distribution center waiting to get unloaded.

Most of my stuff ships in a 6x9 envelope for almost $5.00. I have free shipping on my item, which also just bit me in the ***. Most people 99.9% I deal with are fine. I just had one two weeks ago i shipped them two different items but contained the same part. I specifically messaged them about it to let them know. Never heard squat , so i shipped them. Now they changed their mind and want a refund. I am now eating the $4.76 on the $17.00 item( total) it took to get it there all because the reason they gave was they "changed their mind". Remember I messaged them and let them know what they were getting so there was no confusion before it shipped and would have changed the order then. If i would have waited any longer I would have created a late shipment. They never messaged me directly when they got them either so I couldn't work with them. They went directly to EBay and then filed a "changed my mind" with EBay.
I dont want to dirty the thread anymore but just a update as I'm pissed. After 21 years selling on ebay this buyer sent back HIS used parts in my original package . I was able to do a 50% refund or else ebay would have deducted the whole thing and sent him a full refund. He commited fraud and there is not **** I can do about it.

I have spent good money that I don’t regret following this thread.

The latest thing to arrive at my door is the Klein shorty hacksaw. Such a solid tool. I’ll post a picture comparing it to the ****** one I owned before. Well built, feels great, the adjustment mechanism for the blade depth is super easy. Around $8, half off. Previously posted link is still good, just bought a handful to hand out to my friends.
Just curious but what do you use these for? I had one (lost it) but never used it once that I can remember. Trying to justify buying one but struggling...

The one I own is actually for cutting PVC pipe in tight spaces. But I assume it is the same principle, such as cutting metal conduit in a space you can't get a traditional hacksaw into (it works more like a wood hand saw). That said, for my purposes, an oscillating tool has made it somewhat obsolete. But I'm sure I will encounter a space where only that tool will be effective.

It would probably be a lot of work but that is technically mail fraud so you could try involving the police, if for nothing else, to make the guys life a little more difficult.

It's one of those things that you don't need..until you do.

Like others have said, they're great for cutting things in tight places. I've had a similar one for the last 40 years.

Also, I have one in my scrapyard box since my locals won't let me take cutting utensils in. So far they haven't figured out what it is.

If you have ever been in a tight place and you wanted to cut something and you wanted to do it by hand with a hacksaw and you did not have room for a regular size hacksaw... And your choices are

Big comfortable hacksaw... $38

normal size $13

The Klein version they listed for about $8. This is smaller and better for tight spaces like under a sink.

The Klein

Ave has their brand for $10 and Lennox fur $13. Then there is one with no support for the blade when it really must be small... $14

It just depends on how much space you have.

I own all the versions except for the larger comfortable handled version. My smaller supported back one is the Klein

I use my Lennox equivalent (prior to that Husky POS) to cut all my 1/2” and 3/4” irrigation lines running all over my property.
I guess you could do that, I haven't used a hacksaw to cut pvc in 20 years. Now that I think of it, I have several nice hacksaws that I haven't used in a very long time.

Sorry, back to the amazon stuff. Don't want to derail the thread.

Big Gator Tools standard and metric drill guides 15% off coupon. Bought the standard a few years back. Nice made in USA tool.

Standard - https://a.co/d/9ZrJPqz

That coupon brings it down to $18.84. I've never seen these that low.

Stupid question - but do any of these include letter sizes? They have a big set but I do not see letters
Nice looking product

Like everyone else said.. it's not a tool I use often, but sometimes you're in a tight spot and it's just the thing. It's like owning S shaped wrenches.

I bought this a few days ago for $7.62 after coupon. It's still a deal at $10.98 if the coupon isn't still available, I might not see it since I already used it. Set your expectation based on your use case. I bought it to swap car batteries without losing settings. I don't think it would be great as a cordless battery maintainer but might be for short term. Home Depot sells it for $29.29
