I found this long hex socket set (3/8 drive) on sale. I purchased one myself. It looks good, but haven't used it yet. CrV and S2 and appropriately marked.

On sale for $13.49, cheapest I could find for a similarly equipped set.

The brand is one of those unknown Amazon brands but I see lot of their impact sockets rated well.

I thought I had long hex sockets covered but then realized they are the ball hex kind and I rather have the straight one for some applications where I might strip the bolt head.

Hope it helps someone.

Does anyone on Garage Journal actually "need" a socket set?

I mean, if you're on this site, I'm fairly certain that you already have several. It's not going to be your first.
Hello, My name is Chuck and my tool addiction started in 1970 while going to yard sales and quickly escalated when I started finding tool sales at Sears. Nowadays since the internet my addiction is out of control especially when I find "Hot Deals" on the GJ and SD……. My wife is going to leave me if I don’t seek help.

BTW! UPS just dropped off that $88 socket set and I must admit that it was "too good of a deal to pass up"………. Now I have to go hide it next to my other 17 socket sets that remain unopened.

Make sure to hide in the garage with the lights off while you caress the chrome on your new baby. Isn't that what all of us tool addicts secretly do.;)

$18 use coupon code ENBKLZCA at checkout (ignore the coupon on the page)

Tilswall HVLP Paint Sprayer, Ultra-Light Electric Spray Gun with 20 fl oz Detachable Cup

White is sold out, both blue and pink are still available at time of posting.

No idea how good it is, but for $18 seems worth a go.

my daughter just launched on her own, so it is my fatherly duty to equip her properly to face the world. there are many reasons we "need" tools. and more tools. and some backups. now get out there and find me a deal on a pink toolbox.

^ The Orchard Street store had a whole pile of those pink boxes on a close-out last December (2024) for about $12 bucks a pop.

I had the good sense to know that nobody on my "Secret Santa" list wanted a pink tool box.

The pink or the hot pink? I’m blaming you for starting me down this mini journey! Thanks.

Somebody at some Chinese toolbox manufacturer convinced all the retailers that little mini toolboxes were the hot ticket in Christmas gifts this year.
They showed up in every store!

I grabbed one for my wife’s yankee swap gift at the office. I stocked it with a couple of basic tools and PPE. It was very well received. I blew the $25 budget with the $5 Duratech box cutter and the safety glasses from my private stash. Everything else and the box was just under $25 with tax.

Walmart had Hyper Tool mini tool bases on sale before Christmas for $20. Had hot pink but didn't offer a matching upper.

Bought a real close matching color Kobalt top for $25. My wife got the set for Christmas; she really likes it but just puts junk in it!

:cautious:

At least I use my red set for important things like pens, pencils and post its!

Is this dead? I can't seem to get the coupon code to work in the "promo" section of payment.

It worked for me about 5 minutes ago. At first it didn't so i deleted it in the cart. Then went back and added it to the cart and the discount of $19.** showed up. I didn't have to add the promo code the second time.

With coupon it was $24 for me but my state has no sales tax and I have prime so no shipping fee.

I tried last night and thought it was dead but just tried again and it worked. I think I was putting in the code wrong the first time. You have to apply the code by hitting the arrow before hitting continue.

My Facoow hex metric and SAE driver set arrived. A good weight. Have not used them yet. Seems like a lot of tool for the $24 that I spent but if the hexes all snap off then it will be not enough tool for the money.
