what is a reasonable amount of meters for 1 person to own? 🤔

I definitely don't need another right now. But the one I keep in my mobile repair bag is a convenient tiny one that has the leads permanently attached with zero strain relief. I feel like that one has a finite lifespan to it.. whenever the wire strands at the base of the leads fatigue-out or I snag it on something and it pulls out.

I think 2 is within reason (probably because I have 2 nearly identical multimeters). But nice multimeters go so cheap on Marketplace that I'd have a hard time paying anywhere close to retail for one.

Now I know my spouse has joined the GJ under an alias.

Honey, I am not falling for that trick question!

background : Early in our marriage, my wife worked at a company with a large number of men. She decided to poll all of them with the question:

”How many drill presses do you own?”

Later she casually commented to said husband that he owned more drill press’s than all the other men COMBINED.

Turns out jumping out of your chair and shouting “I win!” Is not the appropriate response. I am older now and have learned these critical details to a happy marriage.

......

A few for different uses. Some here plus a few I probably cant think of.

Old "dmm" not fluke but yellow lol. Cant remember the brand.
I got used and works great. Was my only one for a long time.

Southwire Bluetooth something Multimeter.
Wanted a second one. Was on sale at menards and thought the bluetooth display would be handy. Used that feature a few times and was very convenient.

Harbor freight AMES INSTRUMENTS DM1000 Electricians HVAC Contractor TRMS Multimeter
I was fighting some ghost voltage possible and wanted something with "lo-z". This is now my go to for dc voltage stuff.

Fluke t6-1000
General household, shop, and industrial uses. Extremely convenient to use, and I trust it with my life. Got this used after a brief job in industrial maintenance using one at work. It was love at first sight. Bought it for an amazing price from the "electrical guy" at work. If not new it was barely used. Easy to hold and use while troubleshooting AC on my cnc mills and lathes.

Harbor freight cen tech automotive one with tachometer pickup that clips on to a spark plug wire. Bought 2 on clearance for this feature and a general meter. Used just to make sure not junk and check rpm once.

I'll have to pick up the Harbor Freight one for working on my motorcycles.

Yep.

$155.95/pr, Free Shipping, No Sales Tax outside of Wisconsin

I hopped on this last year at a slightly better price. Good deal, good vendor.
How did you get free shipping? It's $22 for me which basically makes this a non-deal (same price as Amazon).

Edit- Nevermind. Calculating shipping before checkout will show a shipping charge. You get free shipping at checkout. This is a deal! Thank you, @wire!

No promo code or anything, it just comes up Free Shipping at checkout.
The shipping calculator gives a shipping price ~$20-$25 but it's taken off at checkout.
At least for Midwest and California addresses I tried.

I really hate to be the one to do this, this was posted in the Dewalt Deals thread yesterday. Unless of course people only wanted one.
This is all good, I noticed recently alot of guys have been speaking highly of these DeWalts.
Good news is theres evern better deals on them...but boy I really need to hold onto my wallet:LOL::ROFLMAO:

FYI on the pair of M12 5.0 batteries.

Home Depot has them as a special buy for $119. Looks to be available for store pick up if your store has stock. Otherwise shipping

WOOT is all 3rd party product, and when I ordered a Dewalt battery last fall I received an obvious fake. YMMV
I was looking at the selection of Dewalt and then thought of this . I decided to wait and buy from an Authorized Dewalt dealer instead of taking the chance of getting counterfeits. If 99 out of 100 were genuine I know which one I would get, call me lucky.

Nice price, but they won't accept my order...
That’s strange, it won’t ship to my address. I ordered a set earlier this afternoon and decided I would like to get another set. The first set worked out but no dice on the second.

EDIT: I tried again and it worked this morning

Any idea if its 'until supplies last' situation, ... or if its specific order issues?

Where is the rejection point? I am able to add 2 (4 jacks) to the cart and get to check out.

I was about to buy the three pack of M12 2.5 HOs, but this is not a risk for me to take. If 99/100 are genuine, you and I are sharing the fake one - this is my luck every time

Well, Amazon reported my cart was delivered on the 27th. Nothing.

Tracking number shows nothing. Not a valid number. Called RXO and they say it hasn't even been received by them for shipment. Expected to arrive the 5th. Delivery on the 7th to the 9th.

I chatted with Amazon CS and they can't figure out anything other that it was delivered. So they canceled the order. They said if it shows up, they I get it for free. We shall see...

hmmm, I would request proof of delivery, i.e. Amazon usually takes a picture of the item as they left it at your location. I have had sketchy things happen with Amazon's "Large & Bulky Item Deliveries" like the tracker showing movement all over the country but when I contacted the original shipper they found the BOL where it arrived at their site but it was rejected (due to damage) and returned to sender. Amazon is quick to refund your money to make their problem go away. Conversely, Amazon is pretty amazing with their regular size item deliveries.

I came home today to find a box on the porch. My wife said, "What did you order from
Amazon?", and I replied nothing. It turned out to be an 8 oz. Rawhide mallet that I ordered on November 10th when someone posted them for $9.66. I ordered 2 about 5 minutes apart, so I expect that the other one will show up later this week. I only wish that I could find some heavier rawhide mallets to use on my knock-off wire wheels. I don't like using the lead hammer.

They afe calling back tommorow to give me the 4 hr wait window. Kinds strange since some here say they just found it outside.
