Pro tip:

Search for Yamashita Industrial Laboratory. Every once in awhile Amazon Japan will be the seller (on Amazon US) and it’s super cheap with free shipping.

I bought this exact set in May 2024 for $50 delivered.

I’ve also scored other Koken on the cheap using this method.
DING, DING, DING you are 100% correct.

I've grabbed several ratchets super super cheap.

Wiha 74984 32 Piece GoBox Standard Bit Set with Mini Ratchet is a decent price from either Amazon or Home Depot for $23

These usually go for 32-40 Good selection of bits etc. This version of the box has a better foam insert that seems to keep the bits intact of you drop the box with it open. Don't ask me how I know

Nice sets, and a good deal smaller (in all dimensions) than the Harbor Freight Icon locking flex head bit set (https://www.harborfreight.com/locking-flex-head-ratchet-and-bit-set-35-piece-58074.html).

The HF has the better ratchet (longer, easier thumb wheel, longer extension, ability to use as pass-through t-handle) and will occasionally go on sale 35-40% off, bringing it close in price to this Wiha. The Wiha has an old-school metal container and a locking extension. Both worth owning.

Another option (if you're focused on hex bits) is the Railer: https://www.amazon.com/Allen-Wrench-Hex-Bit-Set/dp/B0CXZG1WKN/?tag=atomicindus08-20
Which is also available with a bit ratchet: https://www.amazon.com/Railer-Ratch...Furniture/dp/B0CLFRL6CS/?tag=atomicindus08-20. Though I have never seen anything from Railer go on sale :)

I have that set at my desk and fidget with the ratchet during conference calls.

Not knipex, but these Amazon Basics "Cobras" are $17 for a whole set (for 7,10,12 inches all together). Torque test channel had them on, for reviews, if anyone is interested. At 17 bucks its like $6/each, kind of hard to not think these aren't usable for... something...

:lol_hitti

(currently=$120 for knipex)
I've got a boy working for me that's in a vocational type program through his high school, these will be perfect for him. And I'm getting a set to keep in the truck. Think it's well worth the $17.

I'm putting on my "enabler" hat this morning:

Another GJ member posted his newly-aquired pliers in another thread, and I didn't recognize the brand so I had to do some digging:

Speedwox / Speedwox see Changzhou Guangmeng Tools & Hardware Co. Ltd., Jiangsu, China /

Changzhou / Changzhou Guangmeng Tools & Hardware Co. Ltd., No.32 Daoxiang West Road, Wujin Economic Zone, Changzhou, Jiangsu, China / http://www.sandwox.com/ / est. 2005 / "Speedwox" hand tools / TM 5527404 Jul 31 2018 First use Nov 1 2016 /

Looks to me like this is the outfit that's cranking out the super-cheap but quite handy Electrical Terminal Disconnect Pliers

I am unable to find pliers on the only URL I can find for the company, but there is video footage of a scantily-clad young woman performing autobody work tasks some of you might find interesting. (I'd love to sit down and have a drink with their marketing manager.)

I don't know where the thread is, but I recall several of you looking for some itty-bitty-teeny-tiny Ring Nose Pliers for Removing Fuel Lines from Small Engines

The URLs keep changing. Just go to Amazon.com and search "SPEEDWOX"

You son of a *****. Another tool I didn't even know I needed! :ROFLMAO:

I'll have it tomorrow.
I'm a big fan of double jointed needle nose pliers. Great for reaching deep into a tight space where regular long needle nose won't open up.

$17.99 with the coupon.

Not on sale, but Kliens are $25 further down in the search.

We're cross-posting at the same time. And THAT is the one I just took OUT of my cart! GAH!

@Steel_Rain - please post something of a "review" on those when you get them.
I'm supposed to receive mine in a couple weeks.

I bought this set years ago (off a tool truck) and that's just how they are. Use them often without issue.
+1 Also look at some ebay pics of Apex impacts interior of the square drive...can be pretty rough...but the fitment and tolerances are top-notch. I'd definitely check that fitmenst is 100% and usability etc and if its good to go not worry about it...

eta-

here's one, actually its business end of a surface drive apex socket from e-bay. Note theres a sort of unfinished look to the broached (or whatever) shelf that remains after the manufacture process.

All the working surfaces that fit the bolt-face are precisely machined...

Some rust, not finished ground well, but the kicker is the mega handle flex. You can bring the bottoms of the grips together using your thumb and index finger because it’s that “springy”.

For $13 bucks (with the coupon you cheap, sons of *****) I will keep them for the time I’ll need’em, but I’ll pass on the others they sell in this range.

I bought my first Knipex pliers recently. I mostly own no name pliers and most of them are awesome. So I'm not going to stop buying cheap pliers, but when you use Knipex you wish they were all your tools.
