1. Got the free $10 promo for buying $45 in gift cards.
2. Got $5 promo on each item I had in my cart for selecting "Don't Rush Delivery"

Sooo... no lightning deals have been selected or harmed so far but I have gotten a bit of cash to spend later for the cash I would have spent anyway.

It's a deal if you play the game.

*** update... Got the $10 + $30 more.

The Walmart, Target and Best Buy near me all price match Amazon now. I just show them the Amazon price on my phone, and they match on the spot with no questions asked. And now that Amazon charges sales tax, I seldom buy from them anymore.

Same here now that they built a warehouse here they killed me on taxes, now I go with newegg if I can.

I've been thinking of getting a tablet and the Fire HD 7 is $60 off for Prime Day.

I picked one up for $79 shipped. That seems like a pretty good deal. They still have quite a few of them left at that price.

That Husky mower also looks like a good deal. It has the higher-end Briggs engine, not the old flat head and it also has a blade brake clutch. My old Craftsman just keeps chugging along and working great, though, so I can't justify it right now.

Lightning deals on 8 and 16GB both 100% claimed now. 16GB went first because the 8GB is nearly useless. I know I have a 16 and it still fills up too fast.

Automotive lightning deals... 1/2 page... you gotta be kidding me. What a bust. On with my day.

It shows it's only 72% claimed on the 8 gig right now.

8 gig will be fine for my needs. I wanted a cheap tablet because I'll only be using it for web access, pretty much. Anything more than that will be done on my laptop.

The HD is pretty old and slow, I bought one for my mother and she's no technology expert, and complains about it. I'd go HDX if you're going to stick w/ Fire tablets, though the Amazon OS pretty annoying.

Which generation are you referring to as "old and slow"?

The HD series has been updated several times. The ones they're selling now are the 3rd gen series that were released in October of last year.

I'm not claiming it's the best tablet in the world.

Bought a new hair dryer for the wife, between the prime day discounts and a coupon paid just under $10 for it. I'll be a hero

Gift card promo code works again

Still, it's some of what annoys me about the whole thing. They claim OOS on the 3-packs of $15. It's an f'n gift card, you can't ever run out.

As of 7am local time the few things that might have interested me in Auto or Tools were 100% claimed.

But I shouldn't be surprised, I'll keep watching for REAL sales on Enco and Zoro.

They're physical cards. So yes, they can run out.

The only thing I see that I'll likely be getting is a Sephora GC for SWMBO. Everything else that I've been interested in has still been cheaper on ebay or only a few % off their regular prices.

You're right, I'm sure they don't have any more pre-printed gift cards in $15 denominations. It'll be weeks until the printer can get them more.

Would be interesting to see if you can buy a $15 physical card at 12:01 tomorrow morning. Not that I'm going to try just to prove a point.

Not really a "prime day" special but I've had the IR 301B angle grinder on my wishlist for quite a while and noticed yesterday it dropped to ~$41 which is lowest anywhere I've seen. IIRC my wishlist said it had dropped >30% since adding to cart.

Also, if you have prime and choose no-rush shipping you get $5 promo credit as well.

Pretty disappointing overall. Went ahead and ordered some gift cards for the $10 credit cause I buy a ton of **** from Amazon anyway, and 10 bucks is 10 bucks.

I'm up to $50 in free promos due to a deal and no rush orders. Spent the money I was going to spend anyway and got $50 for doing it. Took advantage of zero physical item deals.

So glad I left stuff in cart and waited for today to check out... was not hard to checkout 9 times.

was there a minimum dollar amount required to get the $5 back? i just checked out 2 items in 1 cart, didn't even thinking about splitting them.

Seems like a marketing gimmick to get people to sign up for Prime.
