Yeah but there is a wide range of led effectiveness, Maglite has just not progressed like many other flashlights have.

Exactly!....... Maglite WAS the King of the flashlight world and sadly they did not keep up with the technology. I would love to have a "bad *** 4D cell LED eye burner" for protection and illumination.

BTW! There are LED conversion kits for the Maglites...... $$$

Figured it out. The last battery leaked and/or had a failure of some sort. Left some crusties inside the light tube making it hard to get it out. With some really heavy shaking I was able to use the other 2 D cell batteries as a battering ram to get out the exploded battery. Scraped out the tube with the ever appropriate straight blade screwdriver.

Now to see if it works...

Well I got the LED maglight in the mail today... batteries are in it and the **** is stuck in place... anyone experienced that before? I could just return it but I'd like to keep it if it's an easy fix...

Gj getting the battery out. Can clean up the remaining crust residue with damp paper towels.

But do you need another sign that alka-leak battery flashlights are old news?

Treat yourself to a nice 18650 or 21700 powered flashlight from a company that's not stuck in the past.

I've found and ordered a lot of deals like this from Amazon. The product title, description, and picture can often be wrong. The item number and especially the item and packaging weight listed further down the page are almost never wrong. The file linked in the OP was listed with an item weight of 4oz, so the title on Amazon is definitely wrong.

I too have ordered items listed this way with mixed success. This one clearly was not a success.

I'm not a big flashlight guy. I rarely use them, but I do still have a thing for maglights... not sure why.

But I did contact amazon and was able to get an additional 9 bucks off on that light, so 20 bucks for an led maglight is pretty good I think

May i ask how you filed a complaint (with a link you have one)?
I clicked on the file pic that said I had recieved my order and there was a box to explain what the problem was I said that I had only recieved one loose file and the ad said it was a box of 12. When I clicked finished it automatically said refund and do not return merchandise.
I hope this helps?Screenshot_20200610-232812_Amazon%20Shopping.jpeg

As I said in my rambling (and it was rambling), it's common to have that happen and the whole reason to buy amazon is you have an easier return and a chance at keeping the item. 3rd party will almost always require a shipback.

I'm getting all but 1 back order today (it's 1:44 am) so I'll see how I lucked out. I'll post up what I got vs. what I ordered when I get it.

I wasn't upset with my transaction I have taken a chance on items before. Around Christmas a bunch of us here bought pellet pistols I got two for something like 8 dollars each today its 33.86. I just never had an instant refund like that, it was like they anticipated it. Funny. I will keep shopping, [emoji106]Screenshot_20200611-085437_Amazon%20Shopping.jpeg

Agreed. I did have a third party once tell me to keep it -- in this case it was drill bits. I actually felt for them as it sounded like they had previously TRIED to get Amazon to correct the listing to no avail. Also sounded like they were maybe done with Amazon altogether, although of course I never checked to see if they were later still a seller on Amazon.

If anyone ever needs to reach Amazon, remember to go to HELP ---> NEED MORE HELP ---> CONTACT US. Their chat is pretty damn helpful. I once also requested a phone call in lieu of chat and that actually worked out great -- the woman was clearly based in the States and she was super chill and helpful, not all the wanna-be formal and ingratiating I've come to expect from India (and the complete absence of a thick accent was appreciated, too!)

Sorry no deals but at least I kept it on Amazon "tech" and no flashlight debates....

Got the usual (it happens) single item on each. The titles and description all had multiples (12-pack, 6-pack, box) and most were amazon sold (except one). Got a full refund on everything and kept the files. Took an hour to get through the process (I did chat. Why did I do chat) and had to repeat myself multiple times and did the legwork for them.
Still, free files.:bounce:

I forgot how shoddy most Nicholson files are made now days. Yeesh, some of these are lousy. I mainly bought Bahco's before, but they seem to have mostly dissapeared on Amazon or gone third party with singles only (or $50-100+ per box). The best one is a babbit file, but it also has dings/nicks all-along the face. The worst is a ******* 10" that has what feels like indents along one face.
The corners were usually never touched off on most of the files and have raised burs that are uneven and will cause problems if not knocked off. They need some work before use (except the babbit).

The file/hacksaw drawer is for my new/untouched files. I have a few slightly used (this is at home) but most of these have a single file pulled for use at my storage unit anyways (leftover from school mainly).

The other pictures show the various burs and indents on the files that just show worn tooling and slack work tolerances/QC from the Nicholson works in Mexico. I circled the first indent that you can actually feel along the face, but it goes the whole length every .4" or so.

Stick with Bahcos if you can for a cheap good file. Also, sorry for the lousy camera focusing and lighting. Basement with LED's and a phone camera tend to make focusing hard.

Not a Warehouse Deal but I stumbled upon these construction screws doing a re-order today. These are the 1/4 x 1.5" GRK RSS copies with a nice big head and torx drive. I use these for a particular shipping application (works well strapping things down with plumbers tape)

Last time I paid ~14 for a box of 75 via AWD, now regular price is $7.89 (while it lasts, all Amazon bot algorithmic warnings apply). To make sure I wasn't super confused I punched the ASIN into the three C's and this is, indeed, the lowest price ever, by a lot. I ordered 6 boxes and it looks like someone grabbed a couple after me, presently showing 5 boxes available at the time of typing, and the bot hasn't jacked the price yet.

Note you can also select the "large" pack which I believe is 375 pieces and it's only a few tenths of a cent more per piece (presently $40 for 375 count)

Those screws are now OOS but the same $7.89 price is still available.

But I'm not seeing the advantage over a GRK cabinet screw, like this:
https://www.homedepot.com/p/GRK-Fas...Cabinet-Screw-Pail-330-Piece-100073/205908912

The GRKs are actually about 25% (100-pack) or 40% (330-pack) less expensive. What am I missing?

Only thing I can think of, is in inside (cabinet) vs exterior.
Hopefully someone else has a better answer.

Edit...like I said, better answer below. Would think GRK would do a better job marketing to both interior/exterior.

even though those GRK screws are cabinet screws, it also says

Climatek coating is AC257 code approved for use in treated lumber
A great alternative for exterior use such as vinyl siding and lath applications

Common project applications: remodeling, fencing, storage, cabinets, framing

seems they're outdoor screws

Yeah, they are both outdoor rated.

The only difference that I can think of is that the Hillman screws are "structural" screws, but at 1.5" length, does this matter? I can't think of many situations where you'd need a structural screw's strength at that short length.

I use 1" GRK cabinet screws (not structural rated) for all sorts of small fastening tasks and the wide washer head works great for holding up strapping etc.

Ordered the "Crescent Nicholson 07941N 12" Flat Magicut File - 6/Box"...I did got a box of 6, not 1. Ordered one other set of files that has yet to arrive, wonder how many will be in that one.
Almost had fallen out/broken through the envelope and on the box it says "open the box" in marker...kinda weird.
