Duker, how do you find these on Amazon Warehouse? Every time I try to browse there I have to wade through an endless parade of doll houses and [Xauhei Best Power Drill 2020 400V Electric Torque Amazing] listings, and quickly tire of the chase.

Trade Secrets!...... It’s called treasure hunting!
Enjoy the Duker Deal thread and never ask questions how the "master" finds these Amazon deals. :pimpflash

BTW! When I find Home Cheapo or Lowwes deals it takes me an hour of walking around the store looking for the hidden deals.

There used to be a site that pushed a listing to the web every time a price went down by any amount. It was like trying to drink from a fire hose.

They seem to have gone subscription only and added a bunch of filters now.

Dukes I am in awe though of your deal finding prowess. I have a nice collection of good files and more Knipex stuff than I deserve. Thanks

Ron

Duker,

Got the pencil sharpener (holiday gift), and the 48" air gun (my second thanks to you) for my shop in the country, a truly great leaf blower!

Thanks for the posts and have a great weekend.

Do and amazon search and paste this into the address field in your browser:

&pct-off=70-&sort=price-asc-rank

Change 70 to whatever percent off. You can search Knipex and have it only show Knipex products a certain percent off.

Duker's found some **** that I never would've considered, too. Makes me wonder what he buys for himself and doesn't post here!

I spend way too much time waiting for my turn on conference calls and Webex’s!

Bingo on the treasure hunting! I enjoy the hunt... when/if it ever gets old or I have finished looking for tools etc( what are the odds ) I will quit but for now the hunt continues....

I buy waaay to much ****.... and some of it is odd stuff I find.

I have posted some stuff I thought would never be bought and it’s gone... so I know there are other sick Bas#%?’s like myself out there... lol

Maybe we should start a “What did you do with your AWD” thread!

"stuck in a drawer and forgot i had it"

I have so many tools to which this applies!

Thing is though, some of them have been lifesavers. For instance a while back I was pulling the steering wheel on a Ram 1500. There are three clips you have to access from a tiny port in the back of the wheel. You can only get to that area coming in from the rear, between the steering wheel and gage cluster. Then you have to work blind. It's a HUGE pain in the ****.

I realized, however, that a while back I'd purchased a USB borescope. I taped that to the steering column and ran it to my cell phone which I clipped in the phone holder I'd already mounted. Presto! I was able to actually see what I was doing and get the job done much faster.

The corollary to this is when I buy tools and straight-up forget I have them and end up struggling through jobs that would've been much easier had I remembered I already had exactly the right tool for the job. That happens more often than I'd like to admit.

Public Service Announcement on AWDs...

I recently purchased a Dewalt 20volt 5ah battery (to add to my collection). Deal wasn't fabulous but it was ok... $60ish. Battery arrived today... I looked at the packaging (open package)... saw the date on the package was 2020... correct product id and description for a 5ah battery.

Opened it fully... battery inside was dated 2018 and had severe SCORCH marks near the battery connections. I'm returning it as soon as my printer can print the label.

It will probably be recycled in AWD... don't buy AWD Dewalt batteries... unless you want to own something I touched.

When I get AW duds, I write notes on the item or remove error barcodes and chat with Amazon to make it clear what the issue is. Hopefully that prevents items from getting reposted. Twice I had 10pc sanding belts shipped with 50pc barcodes. I sharpied out the barcodes before returning them.

That’s a good idea and I have done that before too. For example on a carb rebuild kit. It has about 10 small pieces. It was missing the one I needed. I can’t really expect the average Amazon return employee to notice that kind of thing. So I make sure to note it so it isn’t re listed. Oh well.

I remember until around 5 years ago I’d have maybe 400-500 Warehouse items in my cart saved for later and overnight usually up to 5 or 6 of those items would drop an additional exact 50% in price. A lot of those would end up being 80-90% off. I guess Amazon changed the algorithm because the prices don’t drop like that anymore.

Does anyone else remember that happening to them?

I was getting so many packages one day the UPS man told me, ”You know, I don’t know if it’s true or not, but they tell me they’re going to build a conveyor belt right to your house”!
