I am looking for an Amish crew to do some work in a cabin on Marble Lake in Quincy Michigan, cannot seem to find names or numbers to reach them.I am located south of Coldwater, Mi....and I use a good Amish family that does all my stuff....reliable, honest and hard working....they're located s/e of Quincy.....they really prefer to travel only as far as to put in close to an 8-hour day, and get back on their buggy in 1 day....
Nottawa and Colon are NOT in S.E. Michigan....."Axemen" is looking for Amish in S.E. Mich.....how do ya' expect him to go ALL THE WAY ACROSS the state for Amish that will travel all the way to the S.E. when they live in the S.W. portion!!Colon and Nottawa are centers of Amish country. Drive to Nottawa and go in the hardware store and ask. They'll have an answer.

Picture 300 years ago raising a barn frame. Start by oil lamp and end with sunset. Whole village involved. That in my opinion is "Amish". No modern tools or electronics. No electricity. Plenty of you tube videos on them. They still drive horse and buggy to Walmart.Over time I have seen post such as this with members stating that an Amish family built their pole barn. I don't know or think that I ever seen Amish person before, but I have to ask? Is it because they are good, better than others who bid on job, etc? I wish they were down here in south,we need people who do what they say they will do.
Plenty of Amish use tools today, especially air.Picture 300 years ago raising a barn frame. Start by oil lamp and end with sunset. Whole village involved. That in my opinion is "Amish". Gotta be careful though. I've seen things on TV selling Amish dressers or such with guys dressed up like Amish using air powered nail guns.
Perhaps. I do have a higher respect for workers that use hand tools as well as the ideals mentioned. I can scan and bang out a wood carving in a day but it has no skill in it. My point was don't just buy into a crew that says they are amish without knowing or getting references as some have above.Plenty of Amish use tools today, especially air.
Your perception is not the only reality
At the end of the day, they are businessmen in business to make money.Perhaps. I do have a higher respect for workers that use hand tools as well as the ideals mentioned. I believe he's saying it has no hand carving skills, which is different than CNC programming skills.I'm not sure what this means? 3d scanning and programming a cnc involved plenty of skill
