Recently, I have been on a DeWalt kick. A couple of months ago, I bought the DWE402: 11 Amp, 11K RPMs's. Today, I found a deal, at Lowes, two DeWalt DWE402's for $100. The DWE402: 7.5 Amp, 12K RPM's.
With the three angle grinders, I hope it will cut back the changing of the abrasives and allow more efficient workflow. I have some 36 grit flap discs (overlapping with abrasives on bottom), some grinding discs, and some cutting discs. I was also thinking about getting the braided cup brush and/or another type of brush.
What is the best way to go on the wire brushes? Cup, the ones that stick out instead of down? As I understand it, these are more for light cleanup, prior to welding or when you want to just get things off the surface, without getting into the metal. Braided, not braided, coarse, fine, I don't know!
My uses will be cleaning up small projects for welds when building random **** I think up, some small cuts, and making metal presentable, for a gift. I was thinking I could leave the flap disc on one, the grinding disc on another, and the braided cup brush (or whatever) on the third. If I needed to cut or use something else, then change out the abrasive.
With that in mind, which abrasive would be best suited for which angle grinder. I have no interest in buying different models-these three will be it, for a while.
