Got My own dedicated fab area at our new shop. the 1/4 steel work bench we had for the entire shop was always lacking....
Picked up two 35-1/2"x 32" 7/8" thick plates from the scrap yard for 110 bucks. they were side plates from an ancient elevator pulley.
The top frame was built out of scrap 4" channel we had laying around from an old machine that got scrapped.
Legs are 6x6 3/8" wall square tubing I had at home left over from a project.
Just the frame/top and legs...
casters were from a snap on Epic 2500lb cart. 8" wheels and locking swivel on both rolling side and swivel side. they are rated at 1200lbs each. for the caster pads, I used some 6x6" 3/4" plate and drilled and tapped them on my pocket sized Wen drill press that was thrown in as a freebie when I bought my bandsaw.
