I've done exhaustive searching and research on both set's of cabinets, but I'm interested in other opinions. I'm having the floor done as I type. I wanted polished concrete but was advised against it, so we are doing a "metallic epoxy." I have an approximately 25 foot back wall where I'm planning on adding lower cabinets/tool storage with counter-tops and uppers flanking a 65" Panasonic Plasma.

Don't get me wrong, either option will be a dream. I've had a major hankering for quite some time for Lista cabinets. My perception is that it doesn't get any better. Now, keep this in mind, I have absolutely no use for drawers that can hold 500 lbs. Much like I have no use for a 911, but I still want those ridiculously awesome cabinets. I'm still not sure how much more a similar design will cost compared to Moduline, but I was told by my local Stanley rep that it may not be as big of a difference as I think. He intends to come by my house when he is in town, so we'll see.

Now Moduline, in my opinion, actually "looks" better. I thought this was kind of funny. Moduline actually uses Lista in their production facility. Their cabinets are clearly not as study, but I'm certain they will be more than sturdy enough for my use. I've put together a mock up that came to about $19,500. I'm assuming I can negotiate a little better deal, since I'm spending so much. Shipping isn't cheap for this stuff, so maybe I can get it included with a few percent off. So let's say I can get Moduline shipped to me for around $17,000, I'm guessing Lista is going to around $25,000 for something similar. I wonder if it going to be worth, in my case, an additional $8,000.

Knowing this bit of background, your input is much appreciated.

Guess you'll have to wait for one of the other members who have recently spent twenty-five grand on a toolbox to chime in, see how theirs is working out.

(btw, your username is "Money"? Seriously?)

Lista all the way. Buy once and forget about them. I regularly stand in my lista drawers and use them as a ladder. No one beats their quality/ sheer ruggedness. And I really hate wobbly/ flimsy drawers.

Well I originally looked at Moduline cabinets as my first choice then I researched Vidmar. Vidmar was a very difficult product to get in my location. The cost for shipping and no real local dealer. I then researched more into Lista. So these are my opinions on the three mentioned.

Moduline - Great fit and finish.
- Light weight for trailer applications.
- Rust free.

Vidmar - Very durable.
- More options then Moduline.
- Deeper drawers resulting in more square inches of space for a similar cabinet.
- Easier to find a dealer then Moduline for service needs or orders.

Lista - Very durable. Identical to Vidmar in quality since now they are one in the same.
- More options than Moduline and Vidmar.
- Same drawer sizes as Vidmar. Both can be ordered with a shallow drawer as well.
- Easier to find a dealer then Moduline and now that Vidmar and Lista are joined even better

With that said I am not saying Moduline cabinets are by any means lesser then the other two, but they have there place. I feel it is better in a trailer.
The main reason that Moduline has Lista in their shops may be due to the fact that they will take a beating and last for years and you will not be limited to what you want to use the drawer for as you will a lighter weight drawer or smaller drawer.

I'm sorry to offend you. I manage money for a living and 25 and 36 were my high school/collegiate volleyball jersey numbers. I have been using that screen name on car forums for years. I've worked hard to get to where I am in life. I'm sure many have invested much more on larger cabinet configurations. I've seem many pictures of those garages on this forum. I'm hoping some who have purchased or are familiar to help me make such a big decision.

I was aware that Stanley purchased Lista, but I didn't know about Vidmar. Glancing at their website, it appears they are a slightly different looking design. I'll have to do some more digging. Thank you very much for you advice.

I never really looked into Moduline when I was in the market...for me, the selling points of Lista were their overall build quality and the ability to configure them to exactly what I needed/wanted. I certainly don't regret my decision to go with Lista.

I'd say get whatever lets you configure your garage the way you want it. I don't think you'll go wrong with whatever you choose.

I have Lista cabinets in my shop (see the link below) and would do them again.

I have also had Moduline-style cabinets in my race trailer and would do that again as well. In a trailer, low weight is important, and the use they got there was consistent with their construction.

But for a long-term serious-duty storage solution, Lista (and some others like them) seem like the value leader to me. They are much cheaper than the equivalent amount of storage from SO or Matco, etc, and have a much broader line as well, so things like built-in sinks can be done in the same line. Of course they are more expensive than the HF stuff, but that is pretty flimsy compared to the Lista line, and again, like the SO and Matco line, is pretty much restricted to a narrow selection of boxes.

I like that I can do things like add a Lista drawer to a home made welding table, and match the look and quality of the welding table with the rest of the garage.

For me, it's Lista FTW in the garage, and probably a lighter, aluminum series like Moduline in a race trailer.
