I have one of these. I know it is somehow used to hang car doors or to straighten them. Not sure which.

How is this tool used?

Haven't seen one of those in a long time. I've been reduced to using 2x4's and old sockets. But at least I'm adjusting them instead of ignoring them until they won't latch any more.
None of the quickie-lubes in this town can afford to give away even a little spritz of spray lube either - oh well, job security I guess.

I have not seen one of those in years, hard to explain how it is used because depending on hinge/door shell design it can go either way but the best explanation I can give would be that you stick it in between the door shell and door hinge and pinch it by closing the door upon it, because that obstruction is there the door hinge or door shell will give just a little and will move either forward toward your pillar or backward toward your next adjacent panel if that makes any sense.

Is it for sale, Id like to have it for display.

I've had mine for years. Just don't know how to use it. I'm not much good at aligning doors or fenders, hoods either. I can get them on but usually have to settle for whatever position it likes. Recently had the hood off my car and it now has a better setting than before. Don't know how I did it. Must be getting better at this stuff?

The tool in the pic is not mine but a photo I found on the Web. It came from this site http://www.morganmfg.com/ab_cat06.htm

Didn't see the price but they sell them.

Sorry but mine is not for sale. If I sold it I would then find I needed it.

I'm going to be selling some old stuff some day when I get the time.

How you like my new avatar? I'll have to post a story about this. Do you know what ship this is?
