Wow, flags, lights and everything. Most of the time it's lucky if they have someone driving ahead with their flashers on.

Move went almost perfectly.

Had some weights that needed unloaded before backing the trailer/building into the driveway while parked in the road. Ditches / mailbox/ power pole all in the way and I got too close to my brother in laws truck with the forks. 👎

The building move itself went flawlessly. 17 miles met 5 vehicles and one tractor and 30 mins.

She’s sitting on her own legs and ready for the transformation into a usable wood shop.

Added the extra height / sister studs with timber screws, needs the blocking under the original studs yet.

Top plate is all within a 1/4”, open / door end still needs racked back square - but it’s closer now than where it was standing.

Plus my tractor has an indoor spot for awhile 😎

Moving a 12' wide building down the road is not anywhere near easy for the vast majority of people
It takes some foresight but it is not complicated to do.

Who pays the repair bill on the new door ? Looks like a fairly new truck.

Spot for the tractor, awesome. I would love to have a place solely for the JD and it's attachments.

My F'up I will pay for the repairs. I think it's a 2016, not new by a long shot, but in great shape.

The hope is we can find a salvage door the same color and swap it out.

Your move reminded me of a video a guy posted on a tractor board 15 years ago now.
I found it again.
Lifted the back end with the 3 point hitch and front end with the loader. Pretty good load for that little Ford Tractor.
This fellow appears to be just a regular dude but he differs from so many nowdays in that he has a can do spirit instead of the defeatist attitude that modern society has imbued men with.
I laughed - again - at his putting that hard hat on. As if that would have done much good if the building had collapsed. But I assume he doesn't have a death wish and had scoped out the condition of the building beforehand.
Kudos to @NWOhioChevyGuy, the guy in the video and all men who have confidence in themselves!

Go on car-part.com to search junkyards all over. A few times I've found replacement body panels in the same color and just needed to bolt them up. You got lucky you didn't hit the cab!

Nice move!
On a large factory construction job I worked on once, a 24x24 metal building needed moving so the iron workers called motor pool for a large forklift which was placed inside the building. Steel beam crossmembers and bracing were welded in, the building was lifted a few inches, then the forklift driver drove off down the factory private streets to it’s new location.
I was working nearby and my rearward view of it was that a building seemed to be making its way down the street all on it’s own with four guys walking along with it at the corners. I was about 20 at the time and that helped me realize that you can do what you put your mind to if you persevere.

Too many people get caught up thinking it can't be done with average equipment. The rest of us just do it anyway.

Picking up my steel tomorrow to start the rebirth of this old build. Local supplier $2.20/ft
Will pick up my corners & J trim from local building supply early next week.
Also ordered my Janus 650 roll up door for the end wall / entry, should be here by the end of the month.

Hoping by the end of July to have her looking almost new from the outside.

No progress over the last few weeks, and have our yearly fishing trip in da U.P. starting this Saturday.

Bonus I was able to partake in a Salmon trip out to Vancouver Island, BC for work. (Yes I got paid to go fishing ;) )

And the wife and I participated in Wish-A-Mile to raise funds for Make-A-Wish Michigan, 3 days 302 miles.

Siding & door will have to wait until after ;)

This reminds me of years back when a friend was going to build a new garage. There was a single car garage in the way that needed to be torn down. He advertised it "free" if you tore it down. First guy that responded backed his pickup into the garage, fastened some 4x4's across the truck box, then took a chainsaw and cut it loose just above the sill plate. Then the proceeded down the street on the foggy morning until they were out of sight, lol.

I moved a 16x16 wood frame/ metal siding shed on a 4x8 single axle trailer... I pulled it with a 1997 Jeep Wrangler.

Yeah... it does sound sketchy...

The trailer was a single axle, but it was built heavy, with a mobile home axle...

I chose the Jeep as a tow vehicle, because my other choice was my Toyota Tacoma... I asked myself which one would be cheaper and easier to repair if I damaged it. The Jeep won.

I also only needed to move it across my backyard... about 200 feet, uphill, then turn it around and back it in where I wanted it.

That was back in 2012... I need to move it again, just waiting on cooler weather.
