So I got stuck working an extra shift today, but my Uncle went as my proxy to an estate sale that was held today. It was the same estate that was the source of the auction I won at last weekend, so I was very hopeful more good things were to come! I don't know if I got as good of a deal as last weekend, but I definitely scored big time! I gave him $200 and told him to spend it like it was his own, he has a very extensive tool collection himself and was who originally turned me on to Wright in the beginning.
As it turns out, it was the same estate, and there was another Wright Tool lot at it. Unfortunately, instead of being auction format, it was tagged with a price of $250... he talked them down to $200 and got some extra items his wife wanted tossed in. All in all, it is a couple sets of Wright Grip SAE combo wrench sets, some extra above that, lots of wright crescent wrenches, some more ratchets, some channel locks, and so forth. The haul fills a kitty litter bucket.
I also got the story behind the estate. Turns out the husband owned an industrial repair company, and only bought USA made tools for the company, with a preference for Wright tools. He retired and his son took over, and they are moving to Arizona. Rather than move a bunch of stuff sitting in storage, they decided to sell it off. Lucky me!
Pictures will be up by the end of the night, and come Monday I will have a post up in the classifieds by Monday. Also, I will be doing a giveaway for some of the adjustable crescent wrenches.
Feel free to wish harm upon me, but remember, I am giving some away!
