I came across this recently in an assortment of old tools that found their way to me. Appears to be a specialty pin spanner, but I have no clue as to its application. Thoughts?

In my shop, it's a "tossit". I've never had to use one other than to remove the nut from the AG when new. I hand-tighten the wheels and the direction of spin does the rest. Never had one come loose.

I had a grinding wheel that I wore down quit far, and apparently tossed the grinder in the drawer with the other grinders.

Went to use it yesterday and could not get the wheel off. Which started the search for the correct spanner

And... somewhere around here, I have a "scissors" style pin spanner for just in case. It fits most everything.
Here are two commercial versions, somewhere hiding is a home made version like the top on, but tiny pins.

Mine are stamped steel, not as cool, but the same idea.
