Ok so I ordered some things off of tools delivered at the suggestion of another member here on GJ. Tools delivered is awesome they were able to get my order to in 2 days time. I ordered 3/8 impacts for my new makita and in the set they sent me 2 9 mm instead of an 8 and 9 mm. Contacted snap on industrial, they didn't want any pictures just my order number told me toss out the extra socket and had me an 8mm at my house within 2 days.
I'm not a douche, I dont think, so it wasn't a big deal to me, all in all i got the whole set and a replacement in shorter time then it would have took any tool truck to deliver. My socket set started as old cman USA and as some got lost or stolen or whatever, I've replaced them with random individual sockets from whatever was most convenient when I realized it was gone.
I have got a mac box now to keep things organized but I want to start replacing my socket sets with William's. What I gather is they dont offer 1/4 impacts which is no problem, but there 1/2 6 point set is all made in Taiwan. You can get the 12 point in us. I'd like to keep it all one brand as I've realized how annoying it is to have a bunch of different kinds especially when your looking for a stamped size on one that's different then the others.
Anyone use the 1/2 William's Taiwan in a professional setting? Anyone ever abuse the 1/2, dont judge me but I can take a old cman socket, slap it on a cheap 36t junker ratchet, slide a pipe over it and maybe or maybe not break something, but the old cman sockets never broke. I've done this with junk sockets and have the whole sidewall crack and spit out a section. I know that this is something noone should do, its unsafe, stupid of me, careless, I better not warranty it, I get it. But if I'm going to replace my set now, I want to replace it with a set I could do that too should I decide too. I'd rather see my ratchet break then my socket.
So with the William's Taiwan sockets hold up to the time and demands of years of abuse and neglect, or should I choose another brand?
