I am curious :) Any car / truck guys here? Asking for selfish reasons. My wife and I decided to launch a detail supply company to compliment the garage flooring side. Long story short I purchased a Ford Tremor and wanted to keep it looking nice. The more we learned the more we felt like we could do in the detail business what we were doing in the flooring business. Provide good information and support on top quality products.

Sonax Products are live on GF site. The intro coupon code is SONAX20. I can't even tell you how I impressed I am with this stuff.

No not at all lmao. Built many a different vehicles over the years, mainly Volkswagens, Jeeps, mid 80's Ford Truck, and a Mini. And I currently am resto-modding a c/k truck.

Do yourself a favor and visit the Autogeek Online forum. Top quality products from their store and lots of good info from other pro detailers, including the forum moderator, Mike Phillips.

My understanding is Autgeek and Sonax, a brand we sell, have common ownership. But I did not look at the forum. Thanks!

Great choice in trucks :) I flew to Denver to pick up my Ranger 4wd in Longmont the end of April last year. Inventory sitting for a couple months had dealers nervous to move stock. Needless to say, it was worth the plane ticket.

Sonax has great products. I think you will do well with them. The spray on ceramic sealants are becoming real popular right now. I did an actual ceramic coating and used Sonax Perfect Finish 4/6 when I polished the paint before applying it. The coating I used was Kamikaze ISM. It's one of the easier ceramics to use with glowing ratings from consumers, but I think Esoteric has sole rights to selling it. It was definitely a learning experience with all the prep required.

I don't know if I qualify...
My 15 year old daughter's '79 Corvette we are redoing for her:corvette 1.jpg
My personal current project, a '52 Chevy pickup that I've known since I was 5 years old and is tied to so many memories; it may be the cause of my death if the wife keeps catching the UPS and FedEx drivers:
Sam church street.jpg
It looks like a junkyard refugee, but actually runs amazing with highway gears and I've now started on the bodywork.
And lastly, my beloved '46 Chevrolet pickup on S10 running gear, shown here towing the Scotty camper I traded off last year for another C3 Corvette. It's my mostly daily driver- I say mostly since I am a state employee with a state car, but when I drive MY vehicles, that's generally the choice.FB_IMG_1530016450312.jpg
And I have others in line for work someday. If I can just get this little shop done, I can devote my time to these.

Someday, when I retire I would absolutely love to start working on projects like these. Right now it is completely outside my wheelhouse, but I am learning every day

I have the full history of this truck. I know who sold it, who owned it, who was driving when it broke. The truck sat in that field for 46 years until I rescued it. It was never titled until I bought it in 2011. I restored it as the previous owner would have in 1965 on the farm in North Dakota. The plate on the fender is the last plate issued from 1965 It's covering a weld as a bandaid.
The seller visited a few years after I restored the truck and got to drive it again.

It's outside my wheelhouse too, but I'm learning as I go. I've always been one of those idiots that think I can do anything I set my head to. It may not be professional, but I can usually get some semblance of decent. Paint is an example. I bought a turbine paint system. I've held a spray gun exactly once. The '46, I sprayed with no name equipment enamel, several years ago. Very not professional, but very few flow checks, aka runs. With the turbine paint system, I've sprayed two "patina" trucks with cheap clear coat, and the hood of the '52 with primer. None of it is perfect, but every one has given me a trick or adjustment to make...hopefully by the time the Corvette is sprayed, it'll be more than passable from 50 feet.

She is pretty!
Thanks Justin. The car is what induced me to insulate, drywall. paint, install cabinets and of course install the Free Flow in the garage. I couldn't justify storing the Mach 1 in a plain old garage so as the resto on the Mach neared completion the garage overhaul took place so as to be ready for the car's arrival. CJDave.93.JPG

How about some specs on the Mach 1. I can see it is a '69 with a Boss '9 type hood scoop. Great color. A big block based on your user name. CJDave.
Thanks! 50 years ago it was a Acapulco Blue 390, 4-speed Mach-1. When I bought it 32 years ago, it was a brown, cut-up 429, C6, tubbed Mach-1. It now Burgundy Pearl Mica and has a 460 with a cage. I just need to put it back together :rolleyes2
