I picked up this Diamalloy 12" adjustable wrench, checked on Alloy Artifacts but none talk about the alloy steel marking this wrench has or mm markings?:dunno:

It's a shame Alloy Artifacts has been really trimmed down from several years ago .
Heck, it hasn't been updated in over a year.

This gives me a year;

Diamond Tool and Horseshoe Name. In 1958 (or possibly late 1957) the company changed its name from "Diamond Calk Horseshoe" to "Diamond Tool and Horseshoe". Several published references to the new name have been found with 1958 dates.

Diamond adjustable wrenches are top notch I traded a practically NOS 8incher to a diamond collector and bonney tool collector on here I kinda regret it but it was a lone wolf to me and he had good collection so it's all good :).

From the looks of it, that one may have a black oxide finish. The mm markings would seem to indicate that it was produced fairly late (1970s or 1980s).

I've always loved Diamond adjustable wrenches. Recently been trying to assemble a complete set....with the green dip handle intact. Hasn't been easy, but, I'm part way there.

I have a couple of Diamalloy that came from my Dad, and some of the green handled ones as well. I used to have a 12" with the green dipped handle but either it disappeared or I stripped the handle off aster it was in tatters, I can't remember which... :dunno:

Love Diamond adjustable wrenches and pliers - my Dad passed me several of both and they are top quality.

I really like the green handled adjustable pliers I've picked up

Here are most of mine. For a while last summer I was picking up about one piece a week at garage sales. They are good quality tools!

I tend to pick up Diamond tools as long as they are in decent shape. In my area they tend to sell cheap at garage and estate sales since hardly anyone knows the Diamond name unlike Snap-On, Crescent, Channlellock, etc

I have a diamond adjustable wrench for work. It's an absolute powerhouse on the job. I have been in my trade for 25 years and only needed to buy 2 of them. I bought the second because the first was not were I thought I left it.:headscrat

i've got an identical diamond calk adjustable wrench that i got from my dad. maybe a little older than the one you have. it's in storage right now so i can't look at it or post a pic. it's a great wrench. seems a bit tougher than my modern crescents. i'll never get rid of it.

Got a set of lineman's pliers. Very tough steel. Bought them as NOS some years ago at B & B Hardware in Culver City, CA. Kind of sad they went away.

At one point I had 100's of them, It was to the point that I just had to downsize my collection. Several of my friends fathers worked there, it was a sad day when they closed their doors for good.

Right now my collection consists of about 20 pieces and about 10 horseshoes. They are all packed away, some day I will dig them out and display them again.

I've got a pair of adjustable pliers I borrowed from my Grampy's old tool bench a few years back, I doubt he minds me keeping them however. I love them for the sentimental value and that they work pretty hard.

I misplaced them the other day but found them inside the body of my caprice which is on 4x6 beams while I sandblast the floors. Looks like I wont be able to post a pic anytime soon because I'm not opening those doors until the frames back under there.

Either way looks like I'm heading back there to search for some green handled goodness!

Keep the pics coming

I haven't seen these mentioned yet...old guy that I work with had the smaller CW12 and I borrowed it quite a few times at work, but he retired so I had to get my own. Got a good deal on this CW15.

This wasn't nib but I believe it is new. The chain has a little rust but the handle looks new. It has patent # 3,304,817 on it. The chain is 36" long.

Interesting. I have a Diamond adjustable with the green handle. I always thought it was something a previous owner had done. Never knew that green dipped handle was factory.

digging this thread up from the dead...I just acquired these on partial trade with cash for my Columbian 6" vise. C-711 adjustable monkey wrench. 10.5" oal.

Again, not IOB or NIB, but these are new. At least, they've never been used for their intended purpose. Some scuffs from storage, and a ding on top from where someone dropped it. They are the nicest I've seen.

did Diamond tools have a large inventory when they went out of business or what? I seem to see more NOS, IOB, NIB Diamond tools than any other brand.

I have an 18" Diamond adjustable. Almost too heavy to even use as a weapon.

lol nice.... Me too! I understand completely. Go big or go home they said. :pimpflash

I have two Diamalloy tools - both passed on from my grandfathers. My 18" adjustable was my Mom's Dad's wrench who sadly was killed by a drunk/reckless driver before I was born. Amazing guy from what I understand and quite the entrepreneur. He designed and built his own house and grain elevator and I also have some of his drafting tools. I'd really like to get copies of his drawings someday. They are either still at the farm or with an uncle. The photo shows the wrench on top of my Plomb Toolmobile which was also his. Though I never met him its pretty cool to have a piece of his history so to speak. The wrench has his initials engraved on it too which adds to the cool factor.

The other Diamalloy tool I own is a small ignition pliers and was one of the first tools I ever owned. It was given to me by my grandfather on my Dad's side when I was probably 4 years old. I had a pretty great relationship with him until he passed a few years ago. His (my) 31 Model A is my avatar. Both rank up there with my most "special" tools. Both of my grandfathers used these tools farming in northern Montana.

The obligatory pics.

Cool family history on the tools MTfordman!

Thanks. Cool its almost a common theme in this thread as well since I'm not the first to mention I got mine from a father/grandfather. Good tools don't get melted down - they get passed on. Keep it coming folks! Lets see em!

I like the family history too.
I have a Ridgid folding rule with MOSS written inside where the brass extension goes. My uncle gave it to me years ago.

I have a number of Diamond tools -- they're superb.

The little adjustable wrench is not a toy -- I use it all the time, and I normally hate adjustable wrenches. The screwdriver has been one of my favorites since I got it thirty or more years ago. One rarely sees these, IMO, although they're typical Diamond quality.

Dang, I have a tool like this...and it might just be a Diamond!
I've re-purposed it, though.
