Hey Dennis,

Great looking collection of Channellocks, and I like the "wall of tools." I've also been thinking about adding a pair of 388s to my collection.

report back on those Channellock 909. im about to buy a set.

Well I've never crimped anything so I'm
Sure there will be a learning curve. I'm surprised at how stout they are
Though. I was expecting much lighter pliers that would need more
Force but they seem pretty heavy duty.

Nice cozy enclosed workspace, hand grenade and all.

LOL!!! I missed the grenade the first time... :scared:

Nice setup and collection, Dennis!

Jim C. - I'll have to take some pictures of other "walls" like this I have... This area is directly underneath my laundry room and makes a nice cove to do small bench work in.

Zkling/Jim C. - That grenade has been floating around with me since I was in high school when I picked it up at the local Army/Navy in South Bend.. Fits in nicely with the other "tools".

Jeff, thanks for the compliment.. I'll PM you regarding the mini..

I must have 12-18 pair of Channellock pliers, most made before blue grips were the norm. I am not real fond of anything except their pump style pliers, I think there are much better cutters and needle nose pliers available.

I got my first pair probably 15 years ago as a apprentice plumber, lost that set on the job site. I now have probably 10-12 different pair, love that company

Snap on, Matco, Klein to name a few. I don't particularly like the shape. It's just a personal thing

I agree. I think Channellock shines in almost any plier by needle nose. Their specialty ones, signature style ones, and even lineman's pliers are top notch. They haven't seemed to nail down the needle nose though. I'm not a welder, but I hear their welding pliers are the best of the best.

The only drawer with handtools in it that is anywhere near organized is my channellock drawer. The goto tools for me.

Most of the welding pliers I've seen in hardware stores, welding stores, are el cheapo / not made in the USA... so that makes sense that CL would slay the competition there. I have a set and they are very nice and effective in all regards.

Just an updated group photo. When the thread started a little over three years ago, I had eight Channellock tools. I've acquired a few more since then. I still think Channellocks are a great bang for the buck and I'm glad they're still being made in the USA.
