Anyone else like Channellocks?

Lookin' good Dennis. I recently added a pair of 148-10s to my collection. They were on sale a few weeks back at Menard's. I haven't used them yet, but you never know when the right opportunity will present itself.

A large channel lock will provide required amount of leverage to colllapse a brake caliber easily. One of those tools that comes to rescue when all else fails. Leaky

I just started replacing my pliers and cutters with Channellocks. They feel so much better in my hands and out perform the junk I had before. Only have five right now. Still need to get a few more. I'm sticking with Channellocks from now on.

I got these in the mail today! NOS #349! Getting close to needing the lower blue box....though with house going on the market in the next few months, no more toolboxes!!

Hmmmm.....channellocks are the ****. HRC test on the water pump pliers is slightly under what Knipex claims on theirs. I'm sure Irwin doesn't come close, their teeth are laughable. The CL pump pliers do not have as much adjustments as the competition, (Irwin has about double) but that's ok even tho you can't always get the perfect grip. The grip locks are my favorite as they replace a pipe wrench in tighter spots. They grip and turn the **** out of anything round or rounded. Would like to see a torture test knipex and channellock. I know I can get a set of cobras to close while in between adjustments, causing it to slip over and into the next groove. I can't get my CL or any Irwin to do that. I wonder how much abuse that mechanism can take....

I really like Knipex tools and I have a few that I do enjoy using. There's no denying that Knipex makes some top quality tools, but the Channellock/Knipex prices points are totally different. For the money, I still think that one gets a pretty good bang for the buck buying USA made Channellocks.

Very good!

Channellock makes some great tools but they are pretty ordinary compared with Knipex.

that's the single most important reason that I prefer Channellocks over Kleins

Hah. Knipex is very nice. BUT... Both very similar in quality. Self gripping pliers, quality steel, HSS territory with 59-61 Rockwell hardness, knipex tho has a lot more adjustments on their pump pliers, similar to vise grip. BUT, I am not in love with their (alligator I believe) pliers, I can get the (let's unjustly call it tongue and groove) tongue to sit in between two grooves, and if pressure is applied the "tongue" eventually picks a side. How much abuse can this design take, granted its very hard steel...I can't get my blue handles to do that...am I making myself clear? Lol I must say I'm in love with the simplicity of the blue handles, just two pieces of steel and a fastener.

Definitely gotta go with A. Those are the stuff I won't touch. Wonder why they couldn't make room in meadville for an adjustable wrench line? Their locking extension cords though, I'd love my some of those.

I am liking my "channellock" branded grip ons, I bought a few from the pawn shop. They were all marked $19.99 except one set had a pen mark making it look like $10.99, at least the cashier thought so. I would have been happy at $19.99, but I felt like a thief at $10.99. They were new in the plastic too.
