Also found this video showing the Channellock vs the Knipex and Irwin from the same channel:

Amazed the Irwins gave up so easy. I've not been impressed with any of their made in China tools. I wont own a made in China set of Visegrips, I have and find plenty of NOS. Just confirms what I already knew.

The Knipex are terrific.. I've got a few pairs and like them. Channel Locks are my every day go to..

Thanks for sharing..

I like Channellocks! I had a really nice 548 I lost in the junkyard a few years ago. Finally got around to replacing it via eBay. I'm the biggest fan of the parrot-jaw pliers.

The 548 will be missed. I'm glad that I stocked up.

I blame consumers. Look at social media posts bashing anything made in America and enthusiastically praising China/Taiwan... especially Harbor Freight... there's like a half dozen posts about Harbor Freight on the 1st page of this forum. And most of them are bashing American manufacturers. It's like some folks want to drive every American manufacturer out of business... during the height of American unemployment no less. Then when American tools get discontinued or American tool companies close their doors, they blame the companies rather than themselves.. But companies can't continue to make products that you don't buy.

5410, 548, 546, 537, and 516. I don't have the 537.

Here's a comparison of the 546/8/10. The 546 and 548 are very similar except for the handle length.

The 546 and 516 are similar except the 516 is narrower.

Nice pliers, measured twice.

Thank you

I agree with you on this. If I had to choose American made hand tools versus Chinese made hand tools I'd choose American. For Taiwanese hand tools I've found their quality to be really good but I'd still choose American. Channellock is one of my favorite brands to support for pliers and screwdrivers (even though Pratt-Read makes their US screwdrivers) even though I also used/have Knipex and other brands. Good collection of Channellock.

Thank you. Those and a couple others were the new additions but I have many more from old to new. I have some that belonged to my grandfather. Hopefully, Channellock continues manufacturing in the USA for many more generations.

Your talking about the mod. 910 with one handed use and little blue knob for a handle? if so those are not common.

I just got a pair these at a yard sale, never saw them before. Thanks for posting the instructions on how to use, was afraid of crushing a finger. You say these are not common, do you know what they are worth?

Eprey? Sorry, I am new here. The one I have looks in pretty good shape. The blue plastic nub is intact.

Sorry to hijack a little.. Jeff, found these in an oldie Craftman box I got over the weekend... door / lock related? Toss or keep?

View media item 105490

Center hook spanned looks to be a cool over shock wrench that comes with motorcycles.

Bottom one looks to be a wrench/ tool for removing knobs and threaded roses on mortised door locks.

They are a great shifter, I think they are made by Irega. I use Sidchrome branded ones.
First thing I do is cut the rubber handle off.
