As we all know channel locks is the commonly used name for "those types " of pliers. As a young man that style was known to me as slip-grove pliers but now they seem to be called tongue and grove. Did I miss something or have the mellineals changed that name too?
NW, are you confusing "Slip joint pliers" for the "Slip Groove"? I've never heard of the latter - but that could be a regional thing?
The point of my post was simply in almost 60 years of playing with tools NEVER until very recently, meaning this year, haver I ever heard, saw nor in any other shape or form saw channel locks, waterpump pliers etc refered to as tongue and groove... just saying

Those large are the 480... bigazz... Littles 424.424's; and the larger is the 483, or the 480?
Cool pic!
Yeah I try to avoid the adjustables, except for the 4"; and the Fords; and the Masterenches,; and the oddball & auto...
My first negative experience with Channellock pliers.
Big fan of Channellock, but these just don't work out for me. Minor cosmetic issues are not a problem, but I find that the comfort grip handles pinch my hand. May give the dipped handle version a try.
