I have not seen the insulated channel locks prior to your pics. Facom has insulated tools for sale locally.
If you want a pair I can send them to you be the envy of your friends. With the exchange rate they would be affordable.
Keeps eye for when I post the crescent Hi-VIZ 1000 volt range. Some of it forged in USA some here , ( we have exceptionally good steel) Australian made tools are all about quality combine that with a American quality Company , you get a good product .
regards A

The reason Crescent manufactured here was the bottom fell out of the Aussie dollar. In 1972 1 Aud = $2.20 USD
in 87. Aud 0.63 cents to $1,USD . It was cheaper to make them here .

Hi I found these hidden today they are 3048 Insulated
linesman pliers Australian purchased. I think they were a considered item for market evaluation, and not for general sale as the 3248 was the favoured item .

Had the 9" Channellock oil filter pliers and of course ran into a situation where it was too damn short. Bought these 15" to hopefully not have any more issues. Also pictured is an SK oil filter socket I got.

I don't have any Knipex. I do have easy brick and mortar access to way more channel lock unfortunately. It's an illness that doesn't have an easy cure. I was able to talk to a channel lock factory employee which is interesting to my small mind. Channel lock pliers are pretty addictive. The screwdrivers are garbage though- even though they are USA made.

I have some knipex tonton , I bought it , because it was certified, and cheap , bought it from Amazon and a Northern Ireland electrical supplier whose shipping rates were excellent ($11) to Australia. It worked less than half the local price . But the channellock Code Blue stuff and grips and wrench are great , ( never had a channellock screwdriver , never seen one over here ) regards A (ps my knipex stuff is impressive it has to be , it’s the show set ,long story)

What happened to Channellock locking pliers?

I bought mine as part of a set with water pump pliers and an adjustable wrench. Just googled the locking pliers, and could not find much about them at all. Three images and one person selling them on US ebay. Just wondering if they were ever part of the proper Channellock range, or just sold with promo sets?
