Anyone make terminal probe adapters?

Rather then buying a set similar to this one, I found a couple places that have the components reasonably priced. I have terminals available, I just need to buy the wire & banana jacks. Any reason not to make them? Or is it too much trouble/expense?

The plan was to make a few of the most common terminals I run into.

I have always made my own, but I only have three styles I use commonly. If you want/need a whole set it is a lot of work and by the time you buy parts you will only come out a little bit ahead.

I buy the individual male and female crimp terminals to repair the connectors. I have to splice in a length of wire to compensate for the removal of the old terminal, but am able to leave the rest of the connector unmolested. Removing the old terminal is the hardest part.

Since I have a supply of the terminals, I just crimp a piece of wire into a spare and crimp an uninsulated splice terminal on the other end for my alligator clip to grab. Very adaptable, and I make the wires different lengths to avoid the chance of a short.

check aeswave.com. I got all the upgraded leads, etc for my old Vantage there. they have "acupuncture probes" which are invaluable for back-probing connectors to look at a signal

back then and it's pretty great. If you can still find them at that price I highly recommend them. Even with that kit I still make some of my own though. I buy the jacks on eBay for cheap and if it's terminals I use a lot then I have them laying around already.
I make my own because I know they'll work and last. So often they cheap out on pre-fab stuff like this - the wire is super small or the connection is very poor. I use a decent wire and crimp/solder connections as needed to be reliable.
